Excess seeds - exchange

Recommended Posts

I will be able to spare some Gladstone peas this year. "Ooops, word censored!"ody was allowed to eat them as I wanted to grow them purely for seed. It has been a bumper crop, so we did have a few tasters.

Description as follows:

Quite tall, about 4/4.5 ft.

Ten peas in a pod.

White flowers.

Extremely sweet, even when they are going a little over you can still taste the sweetness.

Heavy cropper (very much so this year).

Seeds can be saved for over 3 years.

Success down to using root trainers and planting them at the right time, and suitable weather. No sign of pea moth in any of the pods that we opened. I grew them up a wigwam, but they spilled out and grew sideways onto the path - tried to tie them in, but the plants were determined to go over, so I left them to it so that I didn't break the stems.

I have collected quite a lot already and lots more on the plants, so should have loads. Last time I had these peas and saved the seed, some animal munched the whole lot (mouse likely) just after I planted them out, and I didn't get any seed to save for the following years - hence overdoing it this time.

I will be doing the same for Lazy Housewife French beans, so will probably have some to spare - will let you know.

I am saving all my Crimson Flowered broad beans so won't have enough to spare this year, but next year will hopefully have loads.

I've got some purple podded peas on offer. I'm looking for some green podded peas, don't mind which variety. Would prefer heritage over F1 if I'm being fussy.

I have loads of Kelvedon Wonder, but I think that they may be F1s?

If you get no other offers and are happy to accept them, I'd love to try some purple ones please! :D

I have the following:

red and white onion sets, 20 - 30 of each

Some wild rocket seed, but only enough for a medium sized pot.

A sealed packet of salad bowl lettuce

Aubergine (opened, some used but not many)

A sealed packet of Moneymaker tomato

150 florence fennel seed ( I bought 2 of these, even I don't like fennel that much)

1/2 pack of climbing french bean (blue lake) lovely freshly picked but don't freeze very well.

If anyone is interested in some of the above please PM me.

In return I would be interested in Runner beans, radish, spinach, carrots, cucumber (ridge or ordinary), melon, something unusual maybe, anything considered really.
