Old Speckled Hen Posted August 21, 2010 Share Posted August 21, 2010 Lovely sunny morning and sun forecast. After all this rain the chicken "field" around the pens is a quaqmire. The Dogmother Posted August 23, 2010 Share Posted August 23, 2010 Well the weekend weather here was odd - very humid and overcast much of the time, with heavy showers and a bit of thunder. Yesterday (Sunday) Phil took me on a surprise trip that necessitated my passport and Euros got up at 5am and walked the doglet in torrential rain. We ended up at lunchtime in Brugge hot, humid and cloudy still but no rain. Travelled back to the UK in what I call 'American Rain' - the sort that you only see in US movies Same here today; just had a very heavy shower, and dark as night, but no thunder. A perfect day to get the lawns mowed, the chicken pen cleared, compost turned, weed kill the drive and patio, transplant winter vege..... better get it done today because tomorrow is another day. We're only 2 miles from the sea here, so the weather is blowing straight in off the sea and buffeting the house. We were down on the beach earlier, running in and out of the raging sea like loons.
