Trougher
Just 3 ex-batts. I've only got a small garden, and haven't really got room for more, maybe one or two at a pinch, but no plans at present!
migsy
I've got 5 but I'm hoping to move to a house with a much bigger garden - obviously for my children to play in but I am already thinking about what chooks I might like to add to my collection and I do have a spare coup too and as they are so expensive it would be irresponsible to leave it empty

Janty
PS Janty - the one positive of your recent sad loss is that you're not so close to DEFRA stage...which means more girls in the spring, surely?! You're such a temptress.
Redwing
The DEFRA thing is fine, couple of forms a year thats all

Snoxy
I thought you might be I will be the one looking mighty nervous Is this your first time as a volunteer? Do you find it difficult seeing all those poor little girlies?
Redwing
This will be the third time I have volunteered. I'm not a fan of hybrids so didnt expect to feel as strongly as I did when I first held an ex batt, I was choked up to see the state of the poor thing Its lovely to see them as they learn to scratch about in the holding area

dancing cloud
How times change! Way back when I posted in March, I had 10 little girls and am now down to 5 . Morehens disease has struck however and I've got my name down for 3 more ex-batts from the next rescue (and twice before 3 has become 6 on the day). Possibly Christmas chickens or soon in the New Year, the is currently empty and that cannot be allowed to continue !
