BHWT are re-branding at Easter ... British Hen Welfare Trust

 

"You will see that we have taken the bold decision to rebrand the charity with a new patriotic title and iconic new logo to better reflect our support for the British industry and appeal to everyone who eats eggs or products that contain eggs. It’s our way of saying we are not just here to rescue fluffy hens from slaughter, we are here to help the millions of hens that we cannot save from slaughter too."

 

 

"And here it is – The British Hen Welfare Trust with our little red hen and her golden egg. She’s smart in her red, white and blue colours and she gives clear distinction between chickens raised for meat and hens reared for egg laying.

 

I hope you like her, she’s here to help all those hens we cannot save from slaughter and we hope you will embrace her and proudly promote her."

It's OK - sorry to sound so underwhelmed I just have an inbuilt resistance to marketing piffle.

 

Also do I recall a recentish thread where everyone was comparing the sizes of their new BHWT fleeces - Is that last year's strip now?

yep, the fleeces we all just bought have the 'old' logo on them but I dont care as I prefer it.. :lol:

I like it too. It says bright and businesslike to me.

 

I liked the old jumping hen too - it was fun but probably a bit too 'nice' The aim of the rebranding is to persuade people they are "not just here to rescue fluffy hens from slaughter" but to appeal to everyone who eats eggs or products containing eggs. I think the new logo does that.

I also like the way the new name suggests that the charity is not just about rescuing ex batts but also about raising awareness and campaigning for change so that in the future no hens will be kept in a cage system (hopefully!)

I quite like the new logo, the old one was lovely but probably a bit old fashioned.

I think thats what I like about it though, as I hate all these modern fancy logos, they are everywhere! and the old logo was nicer IMO, but the new one will grow on me, just like these freaky alien smileys did when the smileys were changed.

It is clear and therefore easy to replicate. I think the old logo was quite intricate so maybe was costly to reproduce.

 

The name change is also Makes it obvious that the BHWT are working for ALL hens.

I do agree. Not sure if I like it or not. Seems a bit of a major overhaul as opposed to a tweak...

Not keen on the new logo either, it's a bit too "bold" and "corporate" for me.... the old logo was friendly and more appealing IMO.

Much preferred the old logo. My BHWT bag recently went mouldy because the plumber left a pipe leaking in the cupboard where my bags are kept. I wonder if I can still get the old style, I wouldn't want a new style one.

The old one was more personal/had character, but can see why they're making the change

 

Think they still have some old jute bags ... got one for Mother a couple of weeks ago

I liked the old logo but I like the new one also. The old one wasn't as striking, I think the new one will stand out more

I love the old 'Happy Hen' logo, it really captured the essence of BHWT.

 

A change is as good as a rest though.

Sorry I like the new logo, it's not so twee. Rebranding also brings it back into the public eye for a while, and that's got to be a good thing
