What you up to this weekend?

Recommended Posts

Ooh have a lovely time poachedegg 8) And everyone else too :D

We are going to friends house for a takeaway and a drink on Friday night which I'm looking forward to  and no other real plans. We've both had one of those weeks at work (feeling sorry for myself! :( ) so think we'll do some nice family things this weekend to remind ourselves that work serves a purpose but doesn't have to define us!

Let's hope the weather is kind.....:lol:

It's my sister's 30th wedding anniversary, so a party at her house on Saturday and then a family lunch (at a restaurant) on Sunday, I love family events and there are lots of us so we don't all get together as often as we'd like.

"Would you like me to make a cake?" I enquired, thinking 'a bit of sponge, fondant icing, something pearly and a big 30 made out of coloured icing - I can manage that'.

'Ooh, I've always wanted a croquembouche!' she replied. Not what I was planning at all!

So Friday will be spent making 50 profiteroles, my eldest sister and I have been conferring on the best way to fill them, stick them together etc. and get them ready in time. It's not something I've ever tried before - believe me, I'd only do it for a sister!

I hope it works!

OOoo that sounds good :D didnt know what it was until you explained. In the 70's a french woman from my mums school bought over to us a mountain of profiteroles covered in spun sugar yummm! Is that the same or will yours be covered in choc?

We are chilling, probably cinema a couple of times (cinema cards) and 8 adults Sunday dinner, lamb roast and Jamie's Chocolate mousse

Hope you all have a lovely time doing what you are doing. Good luck with the croquembouche Olly! Sounds very yummy.

Friday we shall be mostly watching films on telly and chilling.

Saturday we have our best friends coming over for lunch.

On Sunday we are going to my parents house for our Polish Easter breakfast of Polish sausage, eggs, fish, bread, potato salad, beetroot and horseradish plus many, many more things. Followed by an egg hunt in the garden. We shall also being playing an egg tapping game where the winner is the one holding a whole egg at the end without a single crack (it does have a name, but I can't think of it right now)

Monday will probably be the same as Friday

Happy Easter everyone. Hope you all have a lovley weekend whatever you do. :D

We have all been off for a week, so in spite of the weather have been out and about bashing the National Trust membership.

Saw some ex batts at Styal Mill having fun in the puddles.

Not too many plans yet for the weekend. Mums for lunch on Sunday and going out for the day with some friends on Monday (weather permitting) :D
