So much pain...

Recommended Posts

This weekend past was a beautiful weekend to be out in the garden puttering around with the girls, I was able to rake out the run and do a MAJOR clean placing 300lbs of new sand in the run, and getting the garden sorted for my new raised beds. I had some big straw bales used this winter as a wind break around the run so I needed to move them to another part of the garden....I did everything right (or so I thought) lifting with my legs as to not injure my back at one point I turned my body to stack a straw bale on top of another and that is when it happened, I heard a LOUD pop and fell to my knees in AGONY. Apparently I tore my ACL (whatever that is) in my left knee and now I'm laid up in bed or using crutches to get around........What a bother.

Well I'm afraid it has to be said that your long running thread seems to attract all manner of injuries to everyone on there - it was just a matter of time!!

But it really isn't fair that our bodies won't behave like they did when we were young. Hope it's all better soon. I'm still wincing at the thought of "pop"!

Hi Mark

I think you were just plain unlucky my DS has the same injury from crashing into another Airman whilst playing Basketball he was super fit at that time but he needed re constructive surgery they did a fantastic job and is back to full fitness and passed his annual fitness test with flying colours. Hoping you too are quickly on the mend :)

That sounds a bit of an understatement Mark  Hope it heals quickly & you get rid of the crutches..they are dangerous things...ask Cookie
