PurpleTree
My girls got hold of a mouse the other day, don't know if it was left in the garden by a cat, but Bubble was running round the garden for ages with it in her mouth with the other two in hot pursuit. Didn't keep watching as didn't want to witness them eating it, I assume one or all of them got to eat it in the end anyway

chick wiggle
Bleughhh i feel slightly ill now with all this talk of devouring dead rodents Ahhh, just had lunch too i have taken the cube and eglu apart washed, rinsed and poultry sprayed them and now they are left in the sun to dry. Poor Noodle cant even get in her nest box if she tried, so i have left her out in the garden with the others. if, after i have put it back together, she goes back in there, then I will put her in the cage. It sure is blinking hot out there Got me t-shirt and shorts on oh, and 1 sock, gotta keep my foot covered - its an attractive look!
Falkor
One sock defo sounds like a look Sandie! Well - perhaps it is a good thing that I am ill and need to be close to the loo - just been outside for a bit of fresh air and noticed a little grey fuzz ball at the door way to Maria's broody ark - it was a little chick! Yay it has hatched but boo that Maria was not looking after it. I spent 15 mins with them popping the chick back under her and she kept pulling it out and throwing her out of the nest I have brought the little chicky indoors and popped her in the inccy....now need to set up 2nd brooder/partition current one. Anyone got any clever ideas on how to split the electric hen in two?

Falkor
Of course you can have pictures! As soon as I have set up brooder number two (knew i brought that ebay rabbit cage, lamp and bulb for a good reason) and they are moved in. Don`t want to open the inncy if I don`t need to as still have eggies pipping. Maria has another chick out (mille) but so far she is covering this one It is very damp still so only just out whereas little Pingu (rescued chick) was more or less dry. Will pop back out in a bit to check on things. Her last two eggs have pipped too. Just got some toast down....feeling a tad better now...fingers crossed no more sickness or anything else

Lewis
Tis rather odd about the chick being rejected Like the new av Emily Just had a driving lesson, mine is a month away - he said we don't need 2 lessons a week so hopefully thats a good thing? Just sat watching the eggs for 5 mins and no wobbles or cheeps, so hoping the chickies are alright in their shells
