Dear Omleteers, I decide to share both

 

So, I follow the pattern to the letter, it is a pattern I have successfully used before. Yet a different yarn, and the laziness in not doing a test swatch has resulted in me knitting a cardy for a giant.

 

So if anyone knows a 7ft female who might like a cardy then let me know!

You could aways wash it at 60 degrees and hope it shrinks the right way!

It is 51% wool, 49% acrylic. I was tempted to try a 60 wash and see what happened

Be a shame to spoil it. Bet it's lovely to cuddle up in today with all the fowl weather out there.

Harry one of my three cats was curled up on it earlier, so he's a fan

It looks fab! The sleeves are the right length and it's a good shape too. If you move the bottom two buttons up above all the others it will look more coat-like, but only if you wanted to make it more formal. Those buttons are cute too!

Some of you may remember that I set myself the task of making a needle point sampler in 3 weeks for a christening gift. Well I finished & framed it myself with a day to spare - good going for me.

I've blocked out the name, just in case, and the colours do look a bit grubby in the photo. They're actually quite vibrant, honestly

I went on a silver clay course, which I loved. I made six pieces, including this leaf..

Sorry it's so big - I still haven't got the hang of photobucket after all this time. I swear they change it just when I start to get to grips with it!

That's lovely I've never heard of silver clay, I will go and look it up What is the 'bead' in the middle of the leaf?

Thanks both. The bead is a freshwater pearl. We actually used silver paste to paint the leaves. I now walk around checking on leaves for suitability

I have fabric, I have batting, I have thread. I'm going to have a bash at a Celtic cushion! That was the easy bit. Now I have to make a design that works! I've doodled and doodled and I think I'm on the right track - it needs . . . tweaking. I do love that word!
