What have you all been making?

Recommended Posts

Well, I started the jacket about three years ago. The child is now at nursery! So I am just keeping it for one of DD's friends. The bootees were just a project...they are not quite right so I couldn't give them to anyone. I am now working through my unfinished items. I am knitting an icelandic style jumper for myself. The idea is that once I finish everything I can experiment more with the crochet.

Very cute. Love the teddy buttons and well done with the bootees. :D

I have probably had those buttons for about 20 years! I did a lot of knitting when my children were small. I am a hoarder  The bootees pattern was online and called 'Grandmas easy ten step baby booties', if I can manage them anyone can

:D:dance::clap:

Snowballs! it's gorgeous, what lovely colours. Did you do that quilting

Ahh that's beautiful! Love the colours you've chosen. Bet they will be thrilled with it. I know I would :D

Thanks both :D

I gave it to them last week and they absolutely loved it which was a huge relief as I was worried it would be too old fashioned for their tastes.

No Plum I didn't do the quilting :( I'm sad I didn't but it was stressing me out so much, I couldn't find a big enough space in my polly pocket house to layer it up, places to rent were extortionate, and my practice free motion quilting really wasn't that great. So I sent it away to a lovely lady who was really reasonable, she did an absolutely super job and had it back to me in under a week. Then all I had to do was square it up and bind it. :D

I will definately use her again, I love the patchwork side of quilt making but so far haven't enjoyed any of the quilting I've done. So for now when the quilts are bigger than laptop I will continue to send them away. Until of course I win the lotto and can have a big sewing room and long arm quilt machine

I made myself a lovely new pencil case for the start of term yesterday, following this pattern.....

http://gluegunannie.com/?p=227

It was quite easy to do, although the zip insertion was a bit of a strange method, and it is a really good size for school.

I used some red + white stripy fabric for the outside, and some spotty red and white fabric for the lining. :D

How many stitches? I lost count after twenty seven.

I love crochet. I've just been attempting Attic24's crochet bag, and couldn't fathom out why it wasn't going right ..... then I re read the pattern and saw the note for UK readers which says it was written in the US style and so the DCs were in fact trebles. No bloomin' wonder it looked odd.

1st rule of crochet - read the pattern properly!

I have my eye on that site; I want to get back into crochet one day.

Exactly how I feel, I even bought some wool to make the crochet flowers but have managed to stop myself, as I have so many UFOs on the go at the moment. September/October's plan is to complete as many outstanding projects as possible (things like decorating jobs, not just craft stuff), and my reward will be to play with crochet!

Having had Mum clear out her cupboard in Vikki's old room in order to fit a radiator in the loft we located some chunky yarn, which I am knitting into a jumper currently. I started it on Sunday and have nearly finished the back, I forgot how much fun it is to use 6.5mm needles, as it grows so quickly and is very satisfying. I'm then going to do a central cream cable pattern on the front, possibly with mismatched cuffs.

Thought I'd show you how my African Flower Hexagon crochet is going. I'm really enjoying messing with the colours and cat is fairly under control at the moment
