bluekarin
He is beautiful! What a lovely face - both on actual Milo and felted Milo. I feel it is something I'd like to try during the loooong holidays coming up to keep myself sane
craftyhunnypie
Been knitting my triangle scarf. 48 times ..a 3 row pattern repeat! I know it's odd knitting a scarf in July. Be prepared is my motto, if Winter is to be anything like last years. Plus living 7 miles from Devils Bridge, I'm going to need it. Blimey the snow was bad there last year! Plum
Yoo Hoo Cathy, Egluntyne and knitters I really want to crochet a special blanket with yummy colours. What type of yarn did you use and where's cheapest to get it? How many colours make a nice mix? Thanks xxx
Tigerlily
Hiya, I'm just learning still but Lucy at attic24 always likes Stylecraft special DK and has crocheted blankets with it in fab colours! It's acrylic yarn, but cheap! There are loads of colours to choose from. I've bought some and it does feel lovely and soft
Egluntyne
I use Stylecraft yarns. I get mine from the Wool Baa in Sheffield.
Plum
Thanks both for recommendation. The prices look better than others I was looking at, just need to find somewhere locally.
The Dogmother
We used to have the most wonderful yarn shop in Banbury (can't recall the name) they stocked really lovely and unusual stuff, probably not the cheapest though The only real yarn outlet we have now is the old fashioned sewing shop... great for sewing stuff but they thing that the 'new acrylic yarns are better then the old fashioned wool' I reckon that anyone setting up a proper yarn shop around here would make a killing! What type of yarn did you use and where's cheapest to get it? How many colours make a nice mix? Thanks xxx Plum I used Patons Colour 4 Me, 100% wool, reasonably priced and a good range of colours. I just bought one or two of every colour, plus some of the random colours for my hexagon blanket.
ubereglu
I love the Rico Design Baby yarns, it's about £1.95 for a 50g ball, lovely and soft and comes in a huge range of colours. It's a mix of Polymide and something else I think-but 100% washable! However not many places stock it though.

Patricia W
Clare- come to Abingdon if you ever want wool or material. We have the most amazing Aladdin's cave in three shops owned by the same family, Masons who have lived in Abingdon for centuries. One of the wool shop ladies is well over 80 and still going strong. One shop specialises in wool and upholstery material, another material of all kinds and the third has crafty things including for cards, embroidery, sugarcraft etc etc. Magic! I have to ration my visits.....

Plum
I went to the knitting shop armed with your recommendations and they didn't have any of them Anyway I chose Patons Diploma DK as it has lots of shades. Blinkin' kitten has unrolled one ball I've started making granny squares (well 1) from Attic 24 blog Bit confusing at first because with the dishcloths I'd followed American instructions. I have now learnt how to do bobble stitch. This is going to be really fun, I guess I better slip over to the crochet thread when I have some to show
craftyhunnypie
Well done Plum - Attic 24's stuff is sooo addictive to make.
