clootie
A friend of mine stuck his head in my kitchen window the other day (it was open at the time) and said he had some good news for me. "Oh really?" said I suspiciously. Turned out that he knew of someone looking to rehome a pair of Buff Colombian Brahmas or they would be sent to meet their maker. Now there I have a predicament as I really don't want a cockeral around my girls and I certainly wasn't planning to increase my flock any time soon. Do I say sorry, no can do and live with the guilt of them being destpached (he's good at laying it on thick is my friend) or do I say yes, I'll have them and add to the madness that is my life? Well, like the man from Del Monte, I said yes and Mr and Mrs Brahma duly arrived on Monday. Mr Brahma or Walter as he will be known, is humungus and is the softest big lump of chicken I have ever met. His missus is a little more apprehensive but will come round in time I'm sure. I plan to let them out today to meet the rest of the family - that should be interesting to say the least. I'm practising in the mirror to shake my head and utter the word "no" at the same time. Why do I find that difficult to do? Edited July 28, 2010 by Guest
Mercedes55
They sound gorgeous, I have no idea what they look like, look forward to seeing some pics of them
Tutti Frutti
Oh dear I think you may have a condition that is triggered when you hear a word beginning with "chi" and ending in "cken". It results in a temporary interuption in your brain synapses affecting your nerve function and so causes your head to go up and down intead of side to side. Other effects include making the word "no" sound like Y.e.s There is no known cure, no matter how many times you try to overcome it in the mirror But what a lovely condition to have! Congratulations, piccies please

cavysqueak
Seeing him I don't think you could refuse. He's beautiful! I have the same problem about saying 'no' to rehoming guinea pigs. I've been surrounded by many guinea pigs for years, but I haven't bought any myself for over 10 years! Nice to see that they have a good home now. Lewis
Wow! He's I couldn't have said no - dad would though Brahma cockerels are so sweet, and they can't run very fast with their huge legs so kids can run + hug them easily
Bexibex
Wow, they are absolutely gorgeous - especially Walter - what a hunk! I know how hard it is to say no. I volunteer at a cat rescue charity and have fostered over 200 cats and kittens and could have kept every single one of them. Luckily I have a very sensible OH who keeps me on the straight and narrow!

fluffyfeet
Crikey - what a gorgeous cockerel!! Definitely a Walter fan here - and Daphne is a bit of a looker too! How tall is he? Have you heard him crow yet - I was wondering if it would be a deep crow as I think that is a little easier on the ear. Well done you for taking them on. craftyhunnypie
Wow what beauties! I'm afraid Walter is going to win the ladies affections! What a stunner! You are extremely lucky to have such a fine looking cockerel. I imagine Walter's crow to be very deep & long drawn out - a bit like my big boy Boon's (cochin).
