Time to say goodbye

Recommended Posts

It's heartbreaking - we are both too soft for this sort of thing. We will have to toughen up a bit if we want to keep pigs! :anxious:

I think it is hard because we have had to tend to him so much as regards food & water, so we have become very attached to him. But it is clear that without our help he wouldn't have got enough food or water & would have died. He is very small & under weight, as well as quite under developed. Hubby heard him try to crow once - but that was it & his comb & wattles never grew properly. He is definitely a boy though. The only one out of 7 chicks - it's just such horrid luck.

On the plus side - to help me get over little Red going tomorrow, I'm getting my millefleur cockerel on Sunday. It seems so soon after - but it's my way of coping with a loss.
