bluekarin
I loved her dress! So simple with a bit of detail with the lace sleeves and top bit. Looked like it was a smidge too long as she was having trouble walking. I really felt for her sister who looked slightly awkward in her very straight dress and all the eyes of the world on her. She did look beautiful though - they look so alike! I shed a little tear when I saw William and Harry leave Clarence house. They looked so very smart. I'd love to be a fly on the wall for their conversation in the car and at the altar. I also thought her mum looked amazing and her poor dad looked so nervous. Princesses Eugene and Beatrice looked shocking, especially the one with the weird beige hat I loved the trees and flowers - thought they echoed the Mall beautifully, and especially nice they will be replanted. The icing on the cake (which btw is amazing!) is them driving away to Clarence house in the Aston Martin with the balloons A wonderful, wonderful day, marvellous weather, and amazing crowds. I love this about Britain. People can be so down about the country and the royals, but then something like this happens, and it seems the whole word is celebrating with them. *cheers*
beach chick
Kate, Pippa and the bridesmaides: absolutely stunning. Kate's dress was a real miracle of couture, you could just SEE how it was crafted around and for her - I loved it, so simple but so beautiful. and she and Will looked so happy all day. Pippa looked amazing. Camilla and Mrs M also very lovely - I thought Camilla was going to cry at one point!! and I reckon Carol already had, and Dad was about to go at any stage. Beatrice and Eugenie - they are pretty hefty girls arent they, if either one of them is a size 12 then I'm a designer 6! sorry, but they looked dreadful. Zara looked nice. Anne looked like she'd been to a charity shop... queenie looked lovely but rather tired I thought. ALL the men looked fabulous - difficult to go wrong with dress uniform though really. and I do adore Prince Phil, cant believe he's going to be 90! and top marks to brother James who did his reading so beautifully in front of almost 2,000 in the Abbey and 2 billion worldwide, big respeck to him. Alis girls
Still loooks hefty to me (i will make appt at Specsavers later) looked like a giant bug had landed on her head. And far too much eye make up - looked like a startled panda with an insect on her head. Having studdied Eugenies attire - I thought the hem had come down Where do these women go to get a posh frock - I could get summat better in the high street. Dont they use mirrors. Alis girls
Apologies Lesley (smacked wrists) i think I meant more of a Grace Kelly ordinary frock as opposed to her wedding dress. As you can tell I dont know a vi Westwood from a frock off the local market.
Cinnamon
She has lost a lot of weight since those bikini photos a year or so ago - I would say she is a 10/12...look how slim her legs are! Her sister is bigger - a very busty 12-14,I would say. Neither of them look in the least bit attractive in their outfits, body shape aside,& neither has dressed to flatter themselves.Eugenie is really quite pretty, but looks shocking in this colour & get up. The designers or their image consultants should be ashamed.
Alis girls
I agree Cinnamon - what were they thinking - apparently the "nude" colour is in this yr - its other name is beige and it frankly suits very few women.
Cinnamon
Yes,its a vile shade. Only really looks good on dark skinned women, which is because it isn't a skintone colour for them I truly couldn't have picked a worse shade for Bea if I had tried..... In retrospect...get rid of the ridiculous hat, make the coat prussian blue with a black wide belt, with the pretty glimpse of chiffony pleated frock in emerald underneath & it might just have been OK
Lydia
Hubby took one look at Princess Beatices's hat and said "Is she paying homage to Tinky Winky or something?" An Australian friend of mine watching it live commented that it looked as though she had antlers on her head. Same Australian friend also commented that Tara Palmer Tompkinson had come with a canoe on her head! Thought Kate's dress was lovely and it reminded me of Princess Margaret's outfit too. ubereglu
That cake!!! Wow, really. Did anyone see Kate's evening dress, beautiful-I'd happily have got married in that!
Guest
I'm not a fan of the royals so have avoided commenting on most of the 'wedding chat' but i think it's a bit mean commenting on fergie's daughters' weight. Fair cop to dissing the outfits, if that's your thing, as you probably paid for them anyway but I just think commenting negatively on their physique (or anyone else's for that matter) is a real shame. Lavenders_Blue
Kate looked absolutely stunning all day - both the wedding dress and evening dress were simply beautiful and suited her perfectly. As Kate was walking down the aisle, Harry turned to look at her, then whispered something to Wills which was apparently, 'Wait until you see what's coming.' How lovely! Camilla and Mrs Middleton (forgotten her name) looked wonderful. All the chaps looked fab in their uniforms (swoon!), Eugenie didn't look great, Beatrice looked hideous which is a shame as she's a pretty girl. I'm undecided about Victoria Beckham, the dress was nice, her heels were mindboggly high for any normal person let alone someone expecting a baby, the hat looked slightly like a pork pie stuck to her forehead... or is that just me? I was glued to the whole thing. I said I would watch it whilst pottering around doing other jobs, but couldn't tear myself away from the TV! I'm neither a royalist or a republican - more indifferent about the whole thing - but I thoroughly enjoyed the day and the way it united the nation, even if only for one day. Willow
before hand I wasn't interested in the wedding so just turned the tv on to see Kate's dress. It was just stunning ! Whilst I think it is easier to dress when you are tall and slim It was just perfect, so elegant. I watched a bit more and plan to watch some on iplayer as the atmosphere looked fun (and I've been given hw from riding to watch the footage with the military horses and horse drawn carriages and comment back to my teacher ) I watched the balcony appearance and that was nice, they looked happy and very comfortable with each other. I hope they are given some space to be themselves. Whilst I didn't think Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice outfits worked (and that hat ). I've been shocked at how nasty the news commentary on them has been They always feel like girls that could do with some sensible mothering to me. As you can tell I dont know a vi Westwood from a frock off the local market. Nooooooooo! I didn't mean you - the media were all saying it as well and I couldn't understand why "Ooops, word censored!"ody had mentioned Margaret's dress as they are so similar! I agree with the Grace Kelly thing as she was an 'ordinary person' as well - Kate certainly had the poise and charm of Grace Kelly. I agree that Beatrice and Eugenie's outfits left a lot to be desired, the cast of Cinderella came to mind - surely someone could have advised them at an early stage! - I personally think that it is Phillip Treacy who should be shot......it appears that it is he who was responsible for all the really awful 'hats'

I can't wear it and I'm dark skinned; makes me look jaundiced Shame about the York girls as they are pretty lasses, just need guidance in the frock department... take after their mother style-wise I think Am I mis-remembering, but Eugenie has dark hair and I thought she was more chestnut coloured? Cinnamon
Bea is a redhead & Eugenie (I love that name) is a very dark brunette. Both pretty girls in their own way, & I am sure they will become attractive women. Had they arrived apart from each other I suspect the effect would have been different, but it was just Gypsy Wedding overload the pair of them dressed like that It just smacked of them trying to hard to me............. The Dogmother
Aha! I thought I remembered her being chestnut-y... She looks so lovely in a more natural mode.
Chucky Mama
Beatrice's outfit was quite elegant, it just needed to loose the hat and be in a different colour. Eugenie's outfit just needed throwing away. I can't imagine it looking good on anyone They are obviously taking advise from someone and that someone needs sacking. Poor things, this is going to take some living down. Cross posted Claret, that photo shows how pretty she is. She could have looked lovely, what a shame. Their mum made some howlers though if I remember rightly.
chickencam
I loved Kate's dress, it was so elegant, she has such natural grace, could do with a good feed though, maybe she has lost weight through the worry of it all. They did make a very natural happy couple, it actually felt like a family wedding which others in the past have not.
Ain't Nobody Here
It looked to me as though Beatrice(?) had had her teeth whitened - not a natural look .
craftyhunnypie
Am I the only one who actually liked Beatrices outfit & hat? Eugenie's outfit was lovely fabric at the top, but the skirt was a bit of an odd shape. i think it's a bit mean commenting on fergie's daughters' weight. Well said Poet! I didn't see a problem with either of them in that repect to be honest. They are a true representation of a womanly shape. I didn't think they were hefty.I thought both girls looked rather lovely. They are young - let them experiment with fashion! I certainly did! Emma.x
AJuff
What a fabulou thread! I've laughed my way through it! Kate's dress was perfect for her, very elegant and I loved her hair down too. Agree on the York girls needing some fashion advice! The ceremony at the Abbey was beautiful especially the music. John Rutter wrote one of the pieces for them in his own unique style. The musicians and choir were splendid despite remarks from my DS (a chorister) who thought some of them looked tired and weren't looking at the choir master! A really lovely occasion. Eugenie's outfit was different... And hey, if that is her thing, then why not I guess! She is young, and finding her style. Some dye their hair pink, some go gothic, etc. At least she has the courage to wear something slightly different, and I thought showed more individualism than Victoria Beckhams creation - which (in my opinion only) was pretty bland.
