Cinnamon
I agree too, which I why I posted the picture showing them both looking trim. I still think both outfits were utter horrors though I actually thought Vicky B looked good - elegant & simple, & bearing in mind she is around 6 months pregnant,I thought she looked appropriate, apart from the dreadful shoes Sarah Chatto has got to be voted the best dressed woman there ,IMHO. AJuff
Although Victoria Beckham looked ok her outfit I still think she must be the most miserable looking woman there. Does she ever smile?
Cinnamon
It gives her ugly dimples, apparently If I were married to that man,I would be grinning from ear to ear
snowberry
I thought Catherines dress was understated elegance, as someone (sorry!) said, very Margaret as well as Grace Kelly. Zara Philips outfit was stunning too. I think the group that is going the rounds on FB is particularly cruel, about the 'demon child on the balcony' or some such. She's a 3 year old girl who was scared by all the noise for god's sake, leave her alone!!!!!
sadietoo
I loved Kate's frock, but got cross with the commentator making that "fashion forward" comment as actually the shape of the neckline and sleeves was just like the one my mum got married in in 1954!! so I was glad to see the Grace Kelly/Princess Margaret comments made... Whoever dressed Beatrice and Eugenie should be sacked from their jobs.....no if's no buts.... I loved Pippa's dress too, and warmed to Harry...(not really ever considered myself a royalist before) As for the Beckhams...sorry...I couldn't care less what either of them was wearing.... Didn't have a clue who Sarah Chatto was...now realise she's Brenda's niece...still haven't found any photos of her outfit though?
craftyhunnypie
Must remember to wear a Beatrice hat at an Omlet meet! I really would too if I had one! But then I LIKE Lady Gaga for being different & having her own image. Yay - go girl! Emma.x

I've been on holiday (in the back of beyond!!) I only got to see the wedding dress today, and my very first thought was...it's exactly the same as my mum's. My mum got married in 1958, her dress was a princess line with Nottingham lace, so not exactly the same as Catherine's but definitely made me look twice as it evoked the same style. I'd love to be able to try my mum's dress on, but she was so slim when she married! I'd guess no more than a size 8.
craftyhunnypie
I remember trying my mums on once. It was a 70's dress & had pointy boobs. Not a good look! We all know what Kates dress was like, but wonder what her shoes were like & what brands of makeup she wore on her big day? It looked beautiful. Chicky
Kate looked stunning and so did her sister Pippa, I am so happy for the couple they looked like they had a great day and I wish them all the luck for the future xx

Must have been very popular style in '58 as the top is the same as my mum's although mum had a short dress with about 5,000 layers of petticoat (ok I may have exaggerated the amount a bit). I wasn't too keen on Victoria Beckham's dress but I think it may have helped if she'd smiled a bit more. I think she looked extremely nervous. PurpleTree
I thought Kate's dress was gorgeous, loved the lace sleeves. My mum had a long sleeved lacy over dress thing, which also had a lacy hood instead of a veil & a bit of a train. That went over a long sleeved ivory satin dress. Was fab. That was in the 70's. I did try it on when I was about 19 & couldn't quite do up the zip to the top. Think my shoulders were a bit wider than hers. couldn't believe it, she must've been tiny when she got married as I was a small 10 at the time I tried it on. Doubt if I could fit into my own wedding dress now after 9 years & 3 kids
chickencam
Kate's dress did have a touch of the 50's about it, my MIL's dress was similar andlovely in '
Tiggy
(Random fact I found out today: Apparently she's allergic to horses! Oh dear, they couldn't place more horses together in one place if they tried!) me too, must be my royal blood

beach chick
oh good grief... thing is, they are presentable girls, they just wear such terrible clothes! my mum reckons it's Fergie's influence, that she eggs them on and tells them it shows character. I can somehow see Fergie taking that stance... but I think someone should actually help them find clothes that suit them. honestly, 'people' were so nasty about the Middletons being middle-class, supposedly blue-blooded Fergie could out-vulgar anyone! Old Speckled Hen
It's being Royal......... You can get away with anything and I don't think they actually care what the press say or what we think. The only one who did was Diana and she had any number of problems as a result. No, these two are born royal( as opposed to acquiring royalty) and I'm sure that as they dandle their great great grandchildren (good genes these Battenbergs) on their knees they will regale them with tales of fashion derring do. chooklady
I know I'm rather late writing this but here goes. William and Harry looked amazing in their uniforms, Catherine's dress was simple(ish) and stunning and typically her. Carole Middleton, Camilla and Zara looked classy and perfect for the occasion. Sam Cameron was underdressed and looked like a lost child. The Queen and Charles looked very proud as did Mr. Middleton. Beatrice and Eugenie looked cheap and tasteless but then that's Fergie's influence, can't stand the woman. I loved their car drive upto Clarence House and the flypast, which I saw from my back garden 6 minutes later. All together a wonderful, enjoyable day and I still have my flags and bunting up! 3 cheers for what Britain does best, hip hip hooray. God bless William and Catherine Edited May 5, 2011 by Guest
Snowy
I've only just seen the pics of the cake - how gorgeous! It was made in our village - just round the corner from me! My best friends daughter did her 'apprenticeship' with Fiona Cairns before moving out of the village. Does that make me almost royalty???
