Unsecure chicken perches

A friend was camping this weekend and came back with these pics - thought you might like them!

Small campsite on a farm with free range chickens - they were obviously very used to 'their' space being invaded by campers! They even jumped into one girls car - she nearly went home with them (think I may need to visit there myself )

 

(I'm just glad they didn't poo on his sheepskin rug - he may not have been so amused by them then!)

I love it! I was going to say the same thing though - I would not have been happy with chicken poo in my tent!

We got invaded by ducks when went camping many years ago.........I swear those ducks could hear a bread packet being opened however quietly you did it!

Lovely! Very lucky he avoided poo though. I love his bell tent. I've got one too and my chickens are definitely not allowed in it!

Yes! As soon as I saw those photos I was thinking I would never let chickens anywhere near something so clean, white and fluffy

reminds me of when i was about 10 camping in blackpool with my sister and her husband, chickens broke into our tent and ate my frosties

My parents tell a story of when they once stayed in a lovely local 'pension' in the French Alps, they went down to breakfast one morning to find that the free ranging chickens which were usually confined to the paddock had made a break for the border and invaded the breakfast room my mother, being a smallholder's daughter, grabbed a chicken under each arm and marched them back outside then came back for more. My father who isn't an animal person watched, horrified.

 

I think they have the photos somewhere.

It was near Stonehenge - but apart from the chickens I believe there was very little else to be recommended about the site!

Thanks Cathy! Stonehenge is not overly close, but not a million miles either......might be worth investigating next year

It was a holiday here that inspired me to get mine. Fab place for kids. It had some farm hens and also a huge WIR with rare breeds.
