The Warrens Posted November 16, 2011 Share Posted November 16, 2011 last night.....just finished tea at 6pm and was sat watching tv when me and my bf heard a bang ( we assumed it was next door banging around) a few seconds later we heard another bang........my bf jumps up and goes to the front door to investigate were the noise was coming from police were outside and screamed at us to get out the house due to fire..................so i grabbed my coat , bag and dog and ran outside my house is a semi-detached and the gas box belonging to next door was alight......police were sealing off the roads and we had to evactuate the cul de sac fire engine ect turned up and had to acess the loft as the fire had got into the cavity and headed straight into the loft and started in there too, gas ppl and electric ppl then turned up - at 9pm we were told because my house is attached the one on fire i couldnt stay in there last night, so had to pack a bag, and take the dogs to my mums and find a hotel to say in Today - police / forensics ect have been and it appear that someone has opened the meter reading box for the gas, cut the pipe and set fire - if it wasnt for a police car drivin past i would have still been in the house watchin tv and god knows what could of happened my house has a smokey smell to it , but ours is ok ( and yes we have insurance just incase lol) ive come back home to find my boiler seems to have packed in so had to get a gas bottle and heater until my plumber can get here and went and bought new smoke alarms - just been reviewing CCTV to purchase and to put up - i wont be sleeping tonight. since being in this house its just been one big nightmare - my bf is looking to buy so i can sell this or rent out and we move , but weve been looking for 5 weeks and there just nothing on the market worth puttin an offer in. i just pray we find something soon There is some sick people out there P.S) chicken are all fine as there house is down the far end of the garden and there bright and churpy today Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

The Warrens Posted November 16, 2011 Author Share Posted November 16, 2011 HI all cheers for all the caring comments The new builds have the gas and elec box on the side of the house which is sooo stupid - if its got to be outside it should be put behind your garden fence. coz seeing this happen, its too easy for someone to tamper with and cause dangers to others! next door has had national grid and gas ppl trying to put a new gas meter in and reconnect everything. he told me his insurance company are a pain in the behind. They prob found some kind of loop hole, god knows -its not nice to see somethink like this happen to someone - it was me who phoned him to tell him as he was in work he also told me hes got to have elec and gas inspection before he can move back in and have it connected to use again...Oh and he has to pay for that as insurance are dragging there feet hes only just had new windows and door all round and re decorated!!! makes my blood boil Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

The Warrens Posted November 16, 2011 Author Share Posted November 16, 2011 i doubt anyone will be caught the person did it at 6pm , on a end corner house that can be seen by 3 seperate streets and apparently no one saw anything! even tho 3 houses face the exact point of the fire ..........but some people i guess dont like gettin involved! maybe they would change there mind if it was there house........
