craftyhunnypie
Oh you are all soooooo lovely. I feel truly loved! Slept quite a lot today in my chair. Took the dressings off this afternoon as instructed - bleurgh. The one from the drain is coming off tomorrow. Have only been outside a short while today - ah well. No the lambs aren't ours, they are a neighbours over the stream. But we are having some from the same farmer he has his from soon. Woohoo! My hubby makes a very good nurse - I am pleasantly surprised! I couldn't get in or out of bed last night - needed an electric bed really. So had to wake him at 3am to help me out of bed to the loo. I'm hoping tonight will be better. The fairies asked me what I'd like ( nice fairies), so I've treated myself to some art prints from Caroline Rose - as mentioned by Attic24. Very bright, jolly, happy pictures. I've also had a cute bunny softie, a necklace, some L'Occitane hand cream & soap & flowers. Even had a card off Sid, the old fella ( gamekeeper as we call him). Ahhh I've decided if I feel up to it come weekend, I'm going to hire a mobility scooter in Aber & go along the front! Madge from Benidorm - eat your heart out! I'm not proud - if it helps I'll use it! As can't walk too far yet - even though I reeeeeeally want to. Emma.x

Chickendoodle
I found it much more comfortable when lying in bed after my op to have something under my knees as that took the pressure off of the wounds. A pillow was a bit too big so I had a rolled up towel. Take it easy for a few days. I was in hospital for 2 nights so they have chucked you out pretty quickly ! You will feel so much better by this time next week x
Space Chick
Oh Emma, I do adore you You've made me giggle at my desk with your Madge from Benidorm line I can just picture you on Aber's seafront
chickencam
Best wishes for a speedy recovery, mother nature has been kind with the weather for your convalescence. My ED was in Aber. yesterday and spent a happy couple of hours sitting in the castle ruins in the sunshine.
craftyhunnypie
I got up at 8 this morning - had a fab nights sleep. Had brekkie & then after my medication I went all floaty. Spoke to mum & dad on the phone & I was going on & on & talking rubbish really. Went & sat in my chair & dropped off until 1pm. Whoa! Just going to have a bit of lunch, then my medication, take off the dressing from the drain & get ready. Hubby going to help me wash my hair. I am so pleased with what a good nurse he is. I was worried before hand. We are going into Aber tomorrow ( Madge scooter hiring). He will get me a shopping trolley for pushing stuff about next week & so on. Hubby did wonder if we could have a double mobility scooter & me drive him about! I'm quite looking forward to the novelty of a scooter, even though I do need one. I just want to sit near the sea for a nice cuppa - I know it sounds daft but I want to see the sea, hear the seagulls & watch the world go by. If I sound over cheery & on a high - it is probably the medication! I do feel a different woman though. Emma.x
Plum
It's a breath of fresh air hearing how you are getting on. Enjoy the sounds of the sea and gulls, and the gentle breeze.

pips_pekins
Really pleased to read how well you are doing and well done to OH for being such a good nurse. I had a big op a couple of years ago and OH got bored of nursing me after the first cup of tea even though I was unable to move unaided He is really caring in many ways but just cannot deal with anything medical! It sounds like you are in a wonderful location, just perfect to aid recovery. Have a good day in Aber. Hope things continue to go well. craftyhunnypie
I am now registered with Aber shopmobility & will be using it again next week & until I feel back to normal for walking far. It was fab! I didn't know they went in reverse too. I went around the town, some scaffolding round some shops was a problem, as not wide enough to let my scooter through. Everyone shifted out the way for me - it was bliss! Went all along the front too from North to South Beach & even had a naughty ice cream - because it felt so naughty & childish to do so! Hubby took quite a few photos - I also did a few Madge poses. Some of which I can not put on this family forum. But there are a couple that I can, so will do that for you all tomorrow. When I get old & maybe a bit less mobile - I would not hesitate in investing in one of these scooters. They are genius! I absolutely wet myself laughing at Benidorm tonight when I saw Madge. I treated myself to a new outfit of bright pink chinos ( I remember these from the 80's) , pink spotty top, electric blue satchel handbag & some blue dolly shoes. Also got some feather earrings & some beaded earrings from Polly's. Bought a cucumber growing kit & Marigold kit from Poundland. Had a lovely day out, but have been knackered tonight. Although it is now nearly 12.30 am!!!! Must be the medication! Emma.x
Purplemaniacs
Glad that you had a lovely day. Make sure you get enough rest, don't over do it, give your body a chance to recover, it has had a rough time recently Chrissie
craftyhunnypie
Not having a good day today. I woke at 8am in agony, as I missed my 2am painkillers. Yikes, it hurt! I could hardly walk. The painkillers soon kicked in, but now I have another problem that is uncomfortable. Not a nice subject, but am now constipated. I really want to go, but can't. I've just had a load of fresh orange juice & hubby went & got me some tinned prunes - which I enjoyed. SO hopefully they will help. Going to have a little cat nap in my chair in a min, before 2pm medication. I have the 'Madge' scooter photos now.... one min whilst I put them on photobucket.
