Mum
Those 2 x 10 mins shouldn't make any difference; a hen can leave her eggs for up to 20 minutes and still be ok. Fingers X'd for you!
Redwing
Every 90 mins would be a good choice They need to be turned at least three times a day and I'd say every 15 mins is a bit too often, I reckon my auto Inccys turn eggs every 90 mins or so which does a grand job
craftyhunnypie
My auto incy's are the same Redwing, about every 90 mins. Not checked on the incy for a while...back in a min.. .. .. . . . . . . No further progress from egg 2, but they others are rocking like mad. I think they will be pipped by morning easy. emmastar
One has a small crack on mine too now the kitchen has been quite cold the last few weeks , ill be glad i can turn the incy off this humidity thing is driving me up the wall
craftyhunnypie
Another egg pipped through the night. This one has a proper 'triangle flap' as I call it. It's made much more progress than egg number 2. The flap is moving up & down as the chickie breathes - cute! They don't rush with hatching do they? craftyhunnypie
All 3 of mine have now pipped. Guarantee they will all hatch tonight whilst I'm sleeping. Emma.x
surfer_chicken
Of course Just like all mine decided to hatch the day I had to go back to sixth form after study leave last summer I'm getting excited to see these fluffy chickie pictures Wish I could hatch this year Come on chickies! craftyhunnypie
I have two chicks!!! Egg number one was unbelievably quick, this then crashed into egg number 3 who was then more or less forced to hatch. The chick from egg number 3 does have a bit of a bloody navel - all egg yolk absorbed though - so I think it will be ok once it has dried out & fluffed up. craftyhunnypie
Two tired little chicks fluffing up nicely in the incy. I think I have one white & one gold - difficult to tell until fully dry. Emma.x
NannyOgg
Oh wow...can't wait to see piccies! I'm planning on hatching some eggs under one of my pekins after easter, assuming that they play ball and go broody for me!
craftyhunnypie
Have put the 2 chickies into the brooder. All fast asleep under the electric hen - extremely cute. Will let them sleep now & get piccies tomorrow when they are more stable on their feet. Emma.x

craftyhunnypie
Said good morning to the 2 chicks & gave them their first medical check. Counted toes, checked eyes & nostrils, checked bottoms & navels were clean. All good. Colour wise I have a white one & a sort of bluey white one. Don't know where that has come from as the parents are white & gold?? They are the only silkies I have & my breeds for breeding are all kept separate. It is the most lovely colour - whiteish head & bluey grey body. Emma.x
craftyhunnypie
The gorgeous bluey chick is unsteady on its feet still. It's eating chick crumb, but it keeps falling over onto its back - all 10 toes in the air. I've watched it walking on the carpet & it doesn't seem to have splayed legs or anything. Perhaps its just not found its balance yet. Am monitoring it very carefully, a bit worried about it. The other chick is a little devil. It's certainly found its feet! Purplemaniacs
I hope the bluey little chick will be ok, I don't know anything about chicks so I can only send my best wishes What has happened to egg 2 has that one not hatched yet? Looking forward to seeing photos when you can. Chrissie
craftyhunnypie
Egg number 2 I think hasn't made it. No more progress after pipping & no wiggling or cheeping. The 2 chicks are beautiful. Bluey chick is a strong little thing & likes its chick crumbs, but its still toppling over, then it gets stuck. Good job I'm around to pop it back on its feet. Doesn't help with the white chick knocking it over. Have taken pics, will put them on here later. Emma.x
Purplemaniacs
Sorry to hear about egg 2. Hope the little bluey chick gets stronger and stays upright as it gets older. Looking forward to seeing the photos. Chrissie
emmastar
The last chick to pip last night (no 5 ) only hatched a few houres ago its a bit week and didnt absorb all the yoke but its looks well and fully formed on the outside so its in with the others one of mine has 100% found its feet and is a cheeky devil running to anything that moves emma do you mind my pics going on here too ? seam to have goined in your thread somehow
Alis girls
Intrigued with all this - how soon do you know if they are girls or guys?
craftyhunnypie
It varies from breed to breed. I can usually tell at 5 to 6 weeks depending. The bluey chick doesn't keep its balance. Hubby thinks it does have a splayed leg. Looking at the options to fix this - how do I fix it, as it needs doing urgently whilst it's still little.
