craftyhunnypie
Are you ready for a laugh? Well you know how terrified of frogs I am? So much so that I can hyperventilate when I see one. Well I was due to go the doctors this morning. I was all ready to lock up, I opened the door & found a frog on my doorstep!!! Arrgggh! I think it was more a toad as was a bit lumpy, a funny colour & quite plump. I let out a shriek then thought ' oh blast, I've got to go out'. So I got my croc shoe ( I use as slippers) & shooed it away. BUT...the toad jumped over my hand & into my house!!!! It then met Poppy cat who thought it a great entertainment & followed it, as it jumped its way along my hall & was heading for my bedroom!!!!. By this time I thought my worst nightmare had come true. Without thinking, I grabbed some kitchen roll - scooped it up & plopped it onto the field. NOw how on earth di I manage to do that? I don't know where that courage came from. I guess it was because I knew I had to go & didn't want a frog in my bedroom! You can have a good laugh now! Can I have a sticker now please? Adelochick
Congratulations Emma, they do say that facing up to your fears is half the battle! So well done to you, just hope that the frog/toad isn't waiting on your doorstep tomorrow morning when you next open your door, but if it is having moved it once you know you're more than capable of doing it again. Good luck, Jx.
craftyhunnypie
Thing is I don't think I could do it again. I just did it without thinking because was in a hurry & had to be somewhere! I'm shuddering now, just thinking about it! Emma.x
patsylabrador
Not laughing. I find it amazing how the body can ignore the mind. Something had to be done so some chemical reaction allows you to overcome your mind's fears and deal with the problem. It's impressive and the sort of thing I like thinking about. Alis girls
One brave lady - i have the same probs with snakes - hyperventilate. I couldnt have done what you did if it was a snake - would have had to stay in house and cancel appointment till someone came to rescue me. Well done that girl

Chortle Chook
I'm really impressed craftyhunnypie that you were kind to the frog / toad even though you are so scared of them. I admit to really liking them and am all to aware that sadly most people react to having to face up to 'creapy crawlies and slimies' by hitting, trying to squash and otherwise torturing their poor victims. I am so impressed that at no point did you hurt him or even consider doing so. Well done you What a nice person you must be
craftyhunnypie
Although I'm scared of frogs & not too keen on spiders over the size of a 50p coin, I'd never hurt anything like that. Wasps & flies might get a swat, ants might get some powder on them, as do red mites - but anything else no! I wonder if one day frogs & toads won't bother me? Can I actually be cured? Would be lovely to think so - so I don't fear going out or coming in on rainy / humid days. Emma.x
Chortle Chook
I believe that Hypnotherapy can be really helpful in helping overcome phobias. I have a friend who does this and it is not as simple as just hypnotising people and saying 'never be scared of x again' but whatever she does, she seems to have real successes. Guest
My sister is terrified of Frogs! She would move house if she found any in her garden! In fact - she has done once! - in this house the garden is just lawn and a patio to sit on! Nowhere for froggies to hide!
Henslaved
Well done you . Have to admit though, the visions that story conjured had me giggling . Especially when you tried to "shoo" it away with your croc and it jumped into your house , the look of horror on your face I'm sorry but Im not being , it just tickled me is all . You can have a sticker AND a lollipop .
craftyhunnypie
It tickled my mum & my hubby - who wasn't here then! Yes the look of terror & panic on my face must have been a picture! Looking back I think it was hilarious..a frog / toad heading for my bedroom! Just don't ask me to kiss one & find out if they do turn into Princes! Bramble
Wow, well done you!!! I'm terrified of frogs and toads too - I think I would die if one came into my house, but like you, I couldn't kill one either. I don't think a sticker is sufficient reward - shouldn't you get a George Medal for bravery!!!?
