Charlottechicken
Lesley, can't you collect them in a bucket and chuck 'em in for your hens? I heard of someone who used to stroll down the garden with a penknife and cut the slugs in half, but scissors
Louise
My mum used to cut them up with scissors and put them on the bird table Lesley

SarahJo
cool Nicola - I have not got any corgette flowers, let alone fruit . Still the toms are heavily tressilled, and the lettuces are feeding us and the girls at the mo'. , will not starve
ali-s
Early this morning I picked...... 11 Strawberries , the same amount again which something had nibbled , 6 Turnips , 1 teeney tiny carrot and 5 Sweet Peas flowers
Lesley
I haven't got any courgette flowers either - because the $%$^&& slugs keep eating them. I can't use my usual beer slug traps because you can't use them if you have bees - and you wonder why I cut them in half? I used to collect them for the hens but there are too many here without the traps and it means another trek across slippy mud - I can't afford to slip again - so I'm sorry, but........... Cinnamon
Yesterday I picked 1 lonely & pathetic Beetroot, but it was delicious I have lots of quite big courgettes now, so should be able to harvest some late next week, if we get some sun. I am also picking Spring Onions, Potatoes & Carrots next week. I am picking the carrots finger sized because I can't wait for them to get bigger as I am too impatient & they taste so sweet when they are little

Lesley
Lovely crop - esp. the carrot Did you share it with OH - or eat it straight from the garden?
Milly
Today I picked two tiny tomatoes. I was really surprised to find they had gone red as it has hardly stopped raining for weeks and they have grown outside. It has been so wet I haven't been able to put any tomato food on the plants yet - they are constantly sodden. Not sure when I will get any more though
Snowy
OH couldn't wait any longer for potatoes so we upended one of the potato bags. There were 3 charlotte tubers planted in April. Got 1 full colender of large, new potatoes. Absolutely delicious with some real butter. My first 'proper' crop of anything! So far I've also had some lovely radishes and mixed lettuce and an ongoing supply of curly leaved parsley.
Charlottechicken
The weather broke a flower spike off my very favourite delphinium, I never pick flowers out of the garden so it is quite special to have it in the house Not sure if I should post this as you can't eat it, but I did pick it from the garden!
