williamspencer98
So it was time to buy, when I decided on re-using my house that I previously used. So I bought 3! The man at Mini Meadows Farm told us that 3 is better because if one does die, it will be easier for the other chickens. We bought a New Hampshire Red (Prudence), a Buff Orpington (Mildred), and a Partridge Welsummer (Wilhelmeina or Marjorie). Bless, the NHR and Buff Orpington are quite featherless because they lived with cockerels, but Ben at MMF said that the feathers would grow back within a month or two. Pictures will be up tomorrow, when they're in their run. We've kept them in the house for today and found them a few hours later all cuddled up in the nest box (AW!) So I finally embarked on my adventure, and I already want some more! (In a good way!) Chickens are so beautiful! Will

Wiggle39
You'll probably notice over the coming weeks that you'll have less and less time to do the things you did pre-hens, as you'll be spending more time than you realise chicken watching, they really are time wasters. williamspencer98
So I've got some pictures! They're all a bit plucked of feathers at the moment, only because they lived with cockerels but they're all gorgeous! They all get on fine already, after just one day! We thought Wilhelmina was going to lay because she made a nest in the house, but she didn't which didn't surprise me to be honest. Here are the pictures! Alis girls
I went to our farm today to get a new hen and they have stopped selling pol's. We are so near Hertfordhsire but the nearest place is quite a way. Thinking of trying Thornes but will ring first . Anyone got any links or chickens for sale near NW London I will be interested. Nuffink fancy just a or or Sussex - they are pets which lay eggs. Or in my case one lays the other eats
