Yeti has arrived - new pics

Recommended Posts

hi everyone...

I know many people here love puppy pictures, so thought I'd come and share some pics of our new puppy... Yeti came home yesterday, and behaved very well during the three hour drive (she did start crying and fidgeting and making a right fuss, but did settle down really well after half an hour or so).

She has settled home nicely, has met our other dog Charlie, who has been a perfect 'big brother' so far, and she generally seems a sweet and happy little thing. Of course having just left her siblings (she came from a litter of 8!!), she still behaves as in a pack and stumbles in our legs, falling over her own feet as she scrambles about, and I'm looking forward to training her and enjoying her. My kids are totally smitten with her, and Charlie is in heaven as we made it a rule that no one is allowed to fuss over the pup without fussing over him too/first, so he's being fussed over an awful lot at the moment...

So far it's been easy... I hope this lasts... I remember getting Charlie was much more of a shock to the system, but then he was our first dog (neither I nor DH had ever had a dog before, even as kids), and our kids were much younger and it was a steep learning curve for us all. With the girls being used to handling Charlie, it's much easier now as they know how to handle Yeti and I don't have to be watching them quite so closely.

Even the cats don't look too bothered, again maybe they're just used to Charlie and find the much smaller ball of fluff unthreatening (though Splodge did give Yeti a strict scratch when she rushed up to him as she got here yesterday - what an introduction to the house!!)

We're quite happy!

All still going well with Yeti... she got a strange little abscess on her tummy on sunday, but we kept it disinfected and it turned into a blister and now seems fine... She is still sweet and relatively easy for a pup... one of her ears is moving up, the other one still down... she loves 'accompanying' my daughter when she plays the piano (and it sends us in such fits of laughter, which we have to hide because we try to discourage the howling/wild-moose-like call... she shushes when told, but if DD2 starts playing suddenly, Yeti instantly jumps up to join in...

Here are a few more pics... Charlie seems to be enjoying having a playmate, and is starting to stand his grounds in their games... I hope the harmony lasts...
