Groovychook
It's been a grey old day here too. Chucked it down from late last night through to late morning and has been steadily mizzling ever since.
chickencam
Steady rain all day here with a few heavier bursts. It is very dark. We haven't lit the stove but the cats keep going up to it having a sniff and giving us meaningful looks
Groovychook
We've lit our rayburn and we've got a full house of cats
The Dogmother
I thought it was easing off, but the rain has worsened, and the wind is getting up now. I do like being tucked up in bed, listening to the rain belting down outside. Can't wait until I have finished the work on my bedroom, and can use the open fire in there 1 of 2 cats inside. No idea where t'other one is.
Purplemaniacs
Hope the rain held off for your OH. At the moment its cold and belting down in South Oxfordshire......and its so DARK ! It didn't but OH said he enjoyed our picnic with the oldest two granddaughters (11 and 6 years old). Fortunately there is some seating with a roof over the top. The younger one kept asking when is the cricket going to start. Sadly the umpires said no play. Chrissie
mullethunter
Hideous. Rivers all brown so fieldwork cancelled today. Don't mind being indoors at work a few days a week normally but seeing as I'm currently spending all my spare time indoors decorating I'd rather be outdoors for work. Valkyrie
I seem to have webbed feet and quacking! Torrential and been like that pretty much all day. Still raining even now!
The Dogmother
It rained most of the night as forecast, but had stopped by 5am. Lovely and bright now, but not massively warm. My large water butt is full, and the 2nd one is half full - simple joys!
gavclojak
Rained consistently through the night and was very overcast at 6 this morning but it is just beginning to brighten up. It was so wet yesterday the dogs kept looking at me for the W word but they didn't get a walk until a break in the rain, about 9 pm
chickencam
It stopped raining at around midnight here. Today is not as nice as forecast though, quite windy with large scudding black clouds and the odd sunny spell, quite chilly too.
Groovychook
Sunny and very warm here today, 20 deg and not a hint of a breeze.
Ain't Nobody Here
Warmish and calm this morning. Then a huge black cloud appeared and now it's pouring and slightly chilly .

Groovychook
Quite windy here too but not gale force... yet After a wet day yesterday and and lots more overnight, it gradually improved. Looks drier & brighter over the next few days
The Dogmother
Was blowy with heavy showers yesterday. Today looks very blowy with dark cloud looming, but it feels warmer.
Valkyrie
Feels like September out there - lovely and sunny and all blue, but there is that chill in the air. You know it's cold when the butter is hard and you have to put a little in the microwave just to spread it on the bread! This morning there was condensation all over my windscreen!!! I'm sitting in the sun here, but my fingers are cold. Better get moving then!!!
Purplemaniacs
There was a definite chill in the air first thing this morning. Just 6 degrees. Yesterday afternoon and evening was not as nice as I hoped not particularly warm and kept clouding over. Chrissie
The Dogmother
6deg this morning, and I could have sworn that next door's flat roof looked like it had frost on, but it must have just been the light making the heavy dew twinkle.
Valkyrie
Hard butter this morning and the car had heavy condensation on the windscreen. It's been a nice day but chilly. I think summer's been and gone.
The Dogmother
Lovely today once the sun got going; perfect day really, just a shame I was at work. The sun was still very warm this evening as we walked across the fields. Harvest time is nigh, and they are bringing in the rapeseed crops, which got a good start in the wet spring, and are ready early. I heard my first combine yesterday, and stood to watch one of the giants working a field this evening, the plume of dust blowing away. Although it means the end of the summer, I like to see the harvest coming in, the hounds really like it too as all the wildlife scarpers out of the crops and they get good pickings
The Dogmother
Up earlier today for an early meeting at work, and got a shock... it is DARK This is partly due to the forecast monsoon, I guess, but it's still a shock after all the light mornings.
