Want to see Queenie's xrays ?

Recommended Posts

Here they are.

I love the way you can see a delicate outline of her feathers.

Apparently she was very well behaved whilst having them done.

If you look carefully, you can see her lungs which show she has a chest infection, and the vet gave her some antibiotics. You can also see her crop and her gizzard.

An interesting lesson in chicken anatomy for me.

Bless you for having this done! £10 well spent & what a good vet. Hope she gets well soon. Ax

Yes he is a very good vet AND his wife has lots of chickens so he should know a bit more about them.

She looks tiny and vunerable and obviously is much bigger in her feathers. Sooo cute.

I guess I hadn't really thought how small she is really. Feathers do indeed hide a lot.

I will tell her you are all wishing her well xx

Amazing, but I'm hopeless at reading Xrays. I get the bone structure but what is that thing near her bum end that looks like a collection of breadcrumbs?

Chortle Chook that is her gizzard. I had no idea that is where it is in the body either - I do now

When i said plan ahead I meant catering wise. Extra eggs for cakes etc

I did wonder what you meant earlier too, now I get it

I think I was expecting to see a whole load of mini eggs waiting around but there is nothing at all.

Do you think she has used all of her eggs up ?

Would a hen that is laying eggs have some you could see and the future eggs too I wonder ?

Yes, you are right, the ones with shells on would be the ones showing up.

And you are not bonkers, you made me smile with what you wrote :D

Anyway, I think we are all bonkers

As for a chicken with an egg counter on it how cool would that be. I think I want one
