soapdragon
Having made loads over the years and kept so few I don't think that I'll be making any this year......tho having said that, I will TRY to be more tolerant and open minded but am not actually making these resolutions, per se ! Anyone out there with more resolve than me
HarrisonFamily
I don't even try....I hate January...and find if I want to try a new years resolution it will have to wait until September... I think it goes back to starting a new school year....but most my jobs have always started in September, I got married in September, moved house both times in September...September is just a good time for change and something new... So definitely no resolutions here....
Cat tails
I don't make them myself because I will only disappoint myself... I do make my students make them, and will hand those back at the end of the school year. Cruel? Maybe...
Grandmashazzie
Don't really make any.Though I would like to be more chilled out and let people take me ( and the house) as they find it.We have lots of Social Workers,Health Visitors calling to see foster children and before each visiit I feel I have to do major clean which is totally ridiculous given that it's every week
Ain't Nobody Here
Don't make any as a rule but I have signed up to do Janathon - do some form of exercise every day in January. I'm coming down with a cold though, courtesy of ES, so even that might be hard to do .
patsylabrador
I have two this year. The first is easy, positive and not a challenge. It is to do some sort of exercise every day for the entire year. I'm already in the zone for this one. The second will be hard and is negative. I am determined to not let my family upset me so much this year. I must look after myself and not absorb guilt they have assigned to me. This one is a toughie but I want to shake them off and have a fresh new year.
Olly
Not making any - I set myself goals every year, but not in January, it's the worst time of year to make them.
gavclojak
I háve vowed to take better care of myself, after recovering from a nasy chest infection, sinusitis and tonsillitis all in one go, it has taken me ages to fight it off and needed antibiotics for the first time in about 15 years!!! Space Chick
I made one at the start of December, thinking if I could do it then I could keep it going in 2015. It was a fairly simple one.... Not having carbs for lunch ie. bread on work days..... So no sandwiches for me.... I've been making lovely salads and soups instead. this was following a slight increase in my HBA1C (an annual blood test, which checks your average blood sugars over three months), so carbs were to be limited even further and a lunchtime sandwich seemed the obvious choice! So far so good!
Willow
Mine is to Read more, aiming to read a book a month. I waste too much time reading stuff on my iPad and have got out of the habit of settling down with a book.
Egluntyne
Mine are; 1.to make use of all the lovely s"Ooops, word censored!" booking stuff I keep buying and not using. 2.to keep running three times a week. 3.to be more organised re my tax returns. Alis girls
get back on diet which has flown out the window this festive season and to exercise more. I was going to start today but decided a 2hour siesta with the cat and a blanket much more appealing - chilly and damp - then tea and cake oops failed already. bluekarin
Mine is to go to the theatre more often. I love going but haven't for many years. We have a small theatre company just 5 mins walk away and another larger one in the city itself so there is no excuse really.
Purplemaniacs
I don't really make them but this year I will try to do things rather than put them off. They get done in the end but I would like to be a bit more organised. I am also going to sort out all the things that we never use but I keep just in case! Perhaps if I aim for a room a month Chrissie

Cinnamon
Back on the diet as from Monday, plus I AM going to learn how to Crochet. Both of these were also resolutions last year, but I am 2 stone heavier & still can't Crochet
Cat tails
From experience I can tell you that learning to crochet is A LOT easier than sticking to a diet...
soapdragon
I have tried both and really would rather diet....far less frustrating

Alis girls
To wear my specs when buying food. The joint of lamb I had earmarked for dinner on New years day got put back to Friday as we were all a bit fragile to cook it. I was at work all day Friday and at lunch time got a call from a puzzled OH asking if there was more than one joint of meat in fridge as he could only find pork so we had pork which was very well cooked and the Hungarian nurse I work with thought it was hysterical. As I dropped her at the station she said "enjoy your roast"
Valkyrie
No resolutions here, it's a reminder of how much of a failure I can be!
Cat tails
Oke fine... I made one... A bit late, but rather late then never, right? I remembered I'm going on an exchange trip in March with my mentor class. And there we do a (little) hike up a (little) mountain. (well any mountain is huge, when you are from Holland!) My stamina is rather bad... (oke non-existence ) and I need to drag myself up that mountain as well, together with about 100 kids. Luckily my not so young colleague is joining me, but he has been walking a lot lately. So... I decided I need to do at least 5 walks a week. Starting small, but need to get it up to something. Can't practice with any hills, but at least the walking part won't be so bad...
Cat tails
Survived the stupid mountain (which turns out technically not to be a mountain at all!). I know it is May, but I finally do get round to about 4 walks of about an hour each a week! Who said New Years resolutions are not working! patsylabrador
Yep. Doing ok. The exercise one is going fine, actually I just posted in the fitness thread about that one. Doing middling with the family one. Mostly I feel good and free but occasionally I trip up and feel bad. So far though they're good resolutions.
