The Dogmother
been a bit odd here too, but then that's August. The last few days have been overcast, damp and humid, but this morning is lovely and sunny with a heavy dew.
Valkyrie
I think autumn started in July! The robin was doing it's pipping tweet - which I used to associate with my school holidays almost at an end. Very contrary. I feel really sorry for the youngsters as the rubbish weather timed it perfectly for the start of the school holidays. Although most would be having lay-ins, but for the young ones boooorrrringgg! Sun is out today but very hazy clouds. Better than dark grey though.

sjp
been hot and sunny here not quite so humid through I reckon this years running about 3 weeks early here at least blackberries are more or less finished I was picking some in late July at one of my customers nice big wild ones to boot
The Dogmother
Yes I had early blackberries too. Very bountiful hedgerows this year - I walk alongside some village allotments sometimes - the raspberries in one patch have grown into the hedgerow, so I do some scrumping as I walk along - they are sweet and delicious. mullethunter
robin was doing it's pipping tweet My mum and I always notice when the robin starts singing his winter song, and we couldn't believe it when we both heard it independently over a week ago! Valkyrie
Lovely day today. I was doing a bit of gardening but had to stop because I could feel my arms taking on too much sun! Then OH came out to read in the sun while I sat in the shade - and the sun went behind a huge cloud. So as soon as I decided to stand out and do more gardening, out it came again! There is an awful lot of dew on the grass in the mornings - almost enough for a paddling pool!
mullethunter
Hooray Summer is back Shame this lovely county is so rammed full of tourists you can't go anywhere, but at least it's quiet in my garden.

The Dogmother
Been glorious here today - too hot to be sat out in it. Had my folks up for the day; Pops has a hoist on the car for mummy's wheelchair, and a nurse to help him for the day. He likes to get away, and we had a lovely time; good lunch, then a slow wander into town, which was empty.

Valkyrie
Melted - up early as it's too hot to sleep! Looks like it rained in the night though. Cracking sunrise at the moment. Took the opportunity to power spray the cube while perspiring buckets. I may have got a bit sprayed myself! Looking forward to slightly cooler weather. The Dogmother
Yesterday started off beautifully, really quite hot. We have some time off so decided to head over west for a drive-about... ran into drizzle and cool winds. This morning, as predicted, is dark, overcast and starting to rain. Another day off, so it'll be waterproofs to get the dawgs out today!
