jimnpaula
We visited Noddy's Pure Breeds today and came home with a Light and a Speckled Sussex, a Welsumer and a Crested Cream Legbar. They are all growers and still peeping, they are so cute and tiny! Click me

jimnpaula
Lovely chicks Can't see the Cream Legbar properly but it doesn't look to be the right colours to me, look forward to seeing a photo in a few weeks time Any better? Hope it's a girl though! Although I'm not too bothered by the colour it would be nice if the eggs are blue, I already have a 'cream legbar' but she lays white eggs Edited September 13, 2015 by Guest
jimnpaula
They are very cute! How old? I'm not sure as I forgot to ask but he sells them as sexed so they must be old enough for him to be reasonably sure.
Luvachicken
Very pretty Do you have any names for them yet ?
jimnpaula
Very pretty Do you have any names for them yet ? Not yet, my previous light Sussex's have been Pearl and Crystal so thinking of continuing the theme for that one. It's not uncommon in our household for pets to wait for names while we see what their personalities are like.
Lewis
She's too dark to be a Cream Legbar but does look to be a CLB cross so hopefully get some blue eggs! The cross should be sex linked so he can tell the males apart at hatch. This is the cream colour she should be:
jimnpaula
Ah well, she's possibly from the same source as my other 'cream legbar' as Lemon is quite dark too. I think he only hatches eggs, I didn't see anything I would call breeding pens, so perhaps he doesn't realise himself.... or maybe it's for economy as better breeding would cost more? mullethunter
Lovely babies. CLB and speckled Sussex (bantam) are both on my list!
redsunset
Beautiful! Love speckled Sussex and just hatched 13 this year, they are so lovely. Tried the Wellsummer but all hatch boys! Lovely birds you have

If he had good breeding birds he'd fetch better money for the offspring so can't see why people would breed wrong coloured birds.
jimnpaula
She's too dark to be a Cream Legbar but does look to be a CLB cross so hopefully get some blue eggs! The cross should be sex linked so he can tell the males apart at hatch. I've noticed she's developing a beard and has rather grey legs, perhaps she has Araucana in her?
PixieDust
Could she be a Columbine? I am rather smitten with CLB and may try to source one next time. How about Moonstone, Opal or Quartz for the Sussex's?
jimnpaula
She looks different to my Skye who is a skyline, which is the same thing, but who knows?! The light sussex seems a bit dim but also has been pecking at the others, the welsumer is the most grown and her voice is changing from peeping to odd deeper noises! The speckled sussex and the dodgy legbar are the smallest and best buddies and spend much of their time next to each other on the branch out of reach of the light sussex. (Good suggestions for names - at the moment I've stolen 'Dimrose' from someone for her temporary nickname.)
