chickencam
I worked from age 13-18 with my Dad who was head gardener to a stately home in Wales. He and I mainly grew veg, fruit, pot plants and cut flowers for the big house. There were days when I liked it but i did it mainly for the money. Now I would love a job like that funny how you change ED wants a job in the summer she quite fancies the cattery where we take our cats. The owner did say that when she was old enough she would find her something but that was quite a few years ago.

Hmm, is that on your CV? Still, you're a big strong lad! I've just realised that 105kg is more than twice what I weigh - I am impressed. missuscluck
Wow, what a list of top quality jobs we have all had. To add mine.. A sales assistant for JJB sports for which I had to wear a black, green and puple shell suit and in a burger bar where I had to wear a bright red set of overalls, white and red checked shirt and baseball cap. It was all about the fashion for me. I also would smell really badly of chips after a shift. I havent been a stripper either

I've done some boring temp jobs typing and filing for an eclectic selection of businesses. Been in the TA for years and done all manner of bizarre things (and I mean bizarre) and been a geography teacher for ages before switching to the current 'Jack of all trades... master of none' job as SEN teacher - tomorrow is gardening - HURRAH

Louise
I worked in a supermarket from 14-16 at weekends and in the holidays and for work experience I went to do what I still do now How many people can say that after 21 years they are doing what was suggested by the careers officer at the time Mind you I am the manager now instead of the lackey
Clur
I've had Saturday jobs since I was 15 until I went to work 'proper'. When I was saving up to go to Uni, I worked in Woolworths on a Saturday and Sunday, Mon-Fri days I worked in a Sandwhich shop and then Mon-Fri evenings I went canvassing door-to-door for a double glazing company. I was knackered by the time I got to Uni, then dropped out after 6 months!
sparkleeeeee
i started working at 13 years old waitressing for 90p per hour, i used to earn twice that in tips though. i have had loads of jobs through sixthform and at uni inc. waitresing, barwork, temping in offices doing credit control and legal work. i also worked for the british geological survey doing the geobase survey, the council doing environmental surveys and the uni doing summer schools. i did have great fun in most jobs but because of the cost of being at uni and no parental financial input i did have to work sometimes upto 30 hrs a week during term time as well (not all students have it easy). when i got my first teching job it was nice to think that i would never have to waitress for £4 an hour again!!!! crazygal
During my teens I did paperrounds, babysitting and worked Saturdays and holidays at WHSmith, on the tills and in the office. We used to queue up at the cash office at lunchtime and were given our wages weekly in a little brown envelope in cash. I used to then go and spend most of it on an LP! Those were the days...bad uniform though- it was a grey pinafore in those days with a disgusting coloured blouse. I used to do a quick change in the loos before heading the pub after work! I used to do a quick change in the loos before heading the pub after work! Sorry, but if we are playing the worst uniform game I win, hands down. For 2 years I had to wear - electric blue dungarees, violent yellow shirt & a bright red floppy bow tie, when I worked in Childrens World. In fact the uniform is the main reason I left
