Do you all work? (No offence intended).

So I'm the only one that's actually going to admit to looking at this forum and posting during workng time? Oops!

I do indeed post during working time. Your brain needs a break sometimes - plus I need to feed my chicken chat craving while I'm at the office.

What will it be like when I go to Italy in one month? (We've only had ours since Feb).

I'll miss them so much, I'll be chicken sick.

Yes. I do an unpaid job. The hours are 00.00-00.00, 365 days per year. It involves a vast amount of multitasking, negotiation, planning, executing plans, liasing between the younger members of our company, training, providing regular and frequent nutrition, travel, continence control, bad-dream management, first aid, reading, explaining...

Haven't taken offence at the question, I just enjoy making myself feel like a pretty damn incredible woman by reminding myself just what I do spend my life doing!:lol:

Anyway, back to the original question...my internet browsing, like for Snowy, comes from having the laptop on all day long and having a quick check every time a turn on the CBeebies website comes to an end, or some serious and profound imaginative play is going on, or the television is in employ, or someone's having a nap etc. It's not like I sit here on it the whole time, just that I get plenty of chances to read and/or respond to questions etc. :)

I know that when when I was at home full time when my children were younger it was FAR harder than just sitting down at a desk all day!

It's the inactivity I can't stand!

But if I was working from home now I'd have no discipline... (not that I ever did have) I'd just stare at the chooks all day!

yes, in theory full-time but have access to computer at chambers and at home so as soon as out of court can head to the forum for a bit of sanity - sooooo much more interesting than law! :D and my 4 kids know full well that chickens are the love of my life so they are not to interfere or interrupt me when am on the computer!

I'm at home with the LOs aged 3 and 1 so I'm busy during the day with them. I only get to come on in the evening and that's assuming they go to bed on time and I don't have any Nappy Lady work to do. I can only do my Nappy Lady work in the evenngs but I don't usually have much to do.

For the first time in my adult life I'm actually not in paid employment :D, although I am very busy at home with the general housework, laundry, shopping, food prep kind of activities, as well as running around with children. They're teenagers though, so don't demand great swathes of my time and attention......although the maths and chemistry homework they were looking at last night had me well bemused....that'll be one for their Dad then

Since I'm on a different time zone to you all now I'm actually finding it easier to keep up with the forum. A quick log on with my morning cup of tea to see what's been going on. Then I get busy at home for the morning, and log on again at lunch when I've often got the forum to myself and I can catch up without new red arrows appearing to distract me, then another log on whilst dinner is cooking. Works well for me, but I do miss getting embroiled in conversations....I hit it all too late usually :(

Don't know how I'll manage when I do end up getting another job :lol::lol::lol: . OK Saturday am here, I'm off to Kirirau (sp) market soon for my frui & veg

I work part time but as most of that time I am in court, it is pretty difficult to browse the forum then. Given half a chance I would but magistrates are behind me and would cotton on that I was not actually looking up some sentencing guidance!

It is fair to say that the house has got a lot messier since getting the chooks but - something's gotta give :D

 Yes, I often scroll down the page a bit so that the 'Omlet' logo doesn't show!

I work full-time, I'm amazed that I am able to log on at work as all the 'fun' things (YouTube, Hotmail, Facebook) are blocked. I do worry that one day they will spot just how much time I spend on here! In fairness I do only do it in my lunch-hour as a rule. I do worry about how much time I spend on here, though - no wonder I never get enough sleep!

I do not go to work, I am a Mum and an Omlet forum addict so could not possibly fit a career into my already busy life :D

Brilliant! But being a mum is a full time job anyway so technically you already have a career!:lol:

I also work full time as a teacher and i adore my job 8)

Watch out my temp job has just ended and I will have lots of free time :wink:

I admit to foruming at work  only on breaks or when there was no work to do

My PhD write-up was a different matter as I was writing the same thing day after day at home and ended up having to fit it between endless cups of tea, baking cakes, chickens and forums.

My last temp job ended a couple of weeks ago and I am not going to look for another one until at least October as I am going to spend the rest of the summer knocking the garden into shape and spending time with the grandchildren, who are growing up far too fast.

Last week I used the skills I learned from building the chicken run to make a little ark run for their tortoise. I'll show off with pics when I get time to download them.

Mostly I come on the forum during the day when I stop for coffee - its like taking a break with a group of friends, who are always available for a chat. And of course in the evening when OH is asleep in front of the telly :lol: But I have given up even trying to keep up with all the red arrows as I am easily distracted by any intesting links that people post. I currently spend a lot of time in the evening watching the barn owl chicks that someone told us about a couple of weeks ago.

I'm naughty and even though I work full time (PA to Exec Director) I log on a lot!

I shouldn't do, only meant to be on for 30mins a day, but company is about to go down the drain, so I suppose the bosses have something more important on their minds at the moment?! :(
