Tiggy
it is tipping it down, I've taken the covers off my brassicas, the slugs are being protected from the weather & eating everything!!! my girls are huddling under the winter cover on the run even though the door is open, I've planted more broad beans & peas in my poly-tunnel - i tried onions in there last year, they didn't do too well, apparently are better off in the cold, i've lit my fire with the dried up raspberry canes, no one told me they had cactus like splines OUCH, OH is making christmas pudding and all in all not a bad day, I don't mind the rain, talk about a pig in muck, I've got a water-proof jacket with hood & wellies muddy jeans and i feel great, OH is laughing his head off, I'd love to do this more often but I cannot see me being to work fewer hours just jet, maybe when DD & DS finish uni, I can dream

Snowy
Just got back from the Remembrance Day service - ds2 is a Beaver so was in the parade (proud mum moment there). As soon as the parade started the heavens opened and we had a sleet shower! Luckily it was dry again for the walk back

Luckily it was dry again for the walk back What a shame it rained for you DD1 is a Badger and was in the parade as well as laying the poppy wreath on the war memorial for the second year in a row Thankfully it stayed dry, poor girl had 5 layers on her top half. It can be really chili standing around for so long. The wind is really picking up here. I do not envy you at all Christian. Hope yo have a safe journey. Seagazer
It was lovely here this morning until we decided it was time to put some pvc plastic stuff over the run for the girls. Then it started raining The girls were pacing around the garden as if to say 'get a move on we want to get in'! I have to say OH has done rather a good job. I shall clean them out during the week and see how dry it keeps.
Blackrocksrock
We were lucky it was dry all day but very windy and the chill factor of the wind was awful - went out for a walk with sons dog this morning with hat etc on and still had sore ears with the wind. The girls enjoyed free ranging all day and poor Henrietta looks more dreadful each day she loses more feathers and I feel I should knit her a coat! bluekarin
Very wet and blowing a gale. We were in town to go to the cinema and then for pizza for my sons very, very late birthday treat (his bday is Sept, but there has been nothing at our local cinema he's wanted to watch, until the Quantum of Solace came out). While we were eating our dinner, the rain flooded the pavement outside! Luckily it stopped when we were going home. However, when we got home, my DD and I went to tuck the girls into bed and found our trampoline was on it's side right next to their house ! From our back door I couldn't tell if it had actually hit their house but luckily it hadn't. So it's now bungee tied to our fence post (shouldn't get pulled out as it's concreted into a concrete block) and fingers are crossed And with all this rain, our back garden is now a bog. It's gonna be fun in the morning!
The Dogmother
Rosie was with her Dad this weekend, so Phil and I went for a drive across to Chedworth near Cirencester to see the Roman Villa. We took the pup in anticipation of a walk in the lovely woods near there, but it was raining so hard that most places were flooded. It's cold, very wet and blowing a gale here at the moment - one of the eyelets on the run cover broke off last night, so their food got wet and I had to anchor it down with some heavy stuff until it stops raining and I can get out there to mend it properly. It even feels damp in the house today
Dinkychick
Its raining and blowing a gale here. My grass is like a marsh, very wet and not so green! and the chucks run is ewww, im glad they have their indoor bit now
..lay a little egg for me
Rain started bucketing down on Sat night, kept it up on and off all yesterday and still today. The girls however are out and about as if it were summer (well almost) and looking very bedraggled. It is quite warm though. All this rain will mean the Severn and Teme will flood again and DS's school playing fields will be underwater again. I keep thinking they should be teaching them canoeing not rugby! I love the woodland behind the Roman villa did you see the old blocked railway tunnel ?very spooky There are loads of fungi in those woods too and giant snails
The Dogmother
We ended up giving the woods a miss Liz as the wetaher truly was dire and even the pup didn't fancy a walk in the torrential rain. We did see the Roman snails though... yuk! It's dark as night and teeming down again today. What's the betting that the Cherwell will flood again? Old Speckled Hen
Here in Kendal I can see blue sky and fluffy clouds in the distance Overhead there is a black cloud and it's hailing Does that mean I'm at the end of a rainbow? Chooks have given up trying to get through the locked cat flap and have retreated to their covered run. Rained all weekend and garden is like a bog even though we are on a hill. ClaireG
It really is awful. My garden is like a bog, thank goodness the girls run is slabbed. I had to drive through a minor flood yesterday and scared myself as the car was playing up afterwards.
chickencam
So much water everywhere that is never a good sign It seems cold too, my feet are freezing.
Egluntyne
So much water everywhere that is never a good sign It seems cold too, my feet are freezing. Ditto to the above post. I am sitting here with a scarf round my neck too. Parts of the garden are an inch deep in water. Absolutely vile.
