Recommended Posts

well, I've done three loads of washing, hung them out, brought them in, put them away (don't do ironing  !)...

....been to get bits and pieces from town.....

...cooked moussaka for freezer, cooked Bogwoppit food for freezer.....

...cleaned the bathroom, swept the downstairs floors twice .....

....cooked roast chicken for dinner.....and aubergine bake to use up old aubergine...

...made OH's pack up for tomorrow....

...generally run around after Bogwoppit....

BUT it is my first ever Mothers Day!!! And I've enjoyed it :D This time last year I had a large bump and Bogwoppit was still just under three weeks from emerging :D:D:D

AND I got my first ever Mothers Day that Bogwoppit made at nursery :D:D:D

Nice to hear soooo many people have had a lovely day. I have had a FAB day. This morning whilst I was in the shower MD decided to wash up the breakfast things for me (she's 6!) and to save me putting them all away accidentally dropped and smashed a bowl. Bless her she was a bit gutted and the time I saved not doing the washing up I spent clearing up! But what a nice thought. :D

I had really lovely home made cards and presents from both girls and a card from small boy with two wobbly X's that he'd done all by himself "They're kisses Mum" :D

Then made chocolate cake and nut roast for lunch, my Mum came over and she LOVED the fruit basket I'd put together for her.

We all sat round the table, feels like ages since we did it as the children have all been fighting awful colds and tonsilitis etc for nearly two weeks and at least one has been off their food every day so this was our first proper meal all together. I had a lovely glass of wine, then Mum and I cleared up and the children all played. I got to spend all afternoon chatting to my Mum, and not just about Kevin and the split but about all the normal things that have gone by the wayside. The sun shone, I didn't get to clean the chickens out but I DID get 4 wheelbarrow loads of turf from a neighbour in exchange for 6 eggs and three half packets of seeds so tomorrow I can patch up my dreadful lawn.

The best Mothers Day I have ever had (although they're all a bit cranky and noisy now  but hey, can't be good ALL day long!)

I had a lovely day, James got me a very generous voucher for my favourite boutique/handbag shop! We did a hen party and then went to the boot sale, geocaching, rescue some horses, cooking & more cooking.

Was a perfect Sunday!

We had Nanny over for the day. OH & Baden cooked a meal and they got me lots of chickeny treats.

My favourites are the two chicken shaped tea light holders that the bought for me from John Lewis. I'd post a link but I can't find them on the website.

Oh Gosh have had to work all day making meals for other peeps Mums. Just finished work so could not do anything for my Mum. She lives with us so left her card and pressie early this morning, but all our kids and grandchildren took her out for the day. They all adore her, she is 84, fit as a fiddle, apart from gout, really pretty, did not pass her genes onto me, fights me tooth and nail every morning to let the ducks out, a totally wonderful woman. My children left me a fab pressie on the table, found it when I came home from work tonight a new dressing gown and casino chips, I do love my poker, and a fab poem they made up!!. Happy Mothers day all you other Mums :D:D:D

I had a lovely Mothers Day, 3 lovely cards from the children (no pressies this year WIR on its way nearly :D ). Both the MILs and my sister and her boys came to lunch that my OH cooked for us all. Us mums sat in the garden with glasses of wine (or tea for those driving). Then the Dancing on Ice final and I finally got around to watching Green Card that I've wanted to watch all week. :D

Rosie woke me up at 6am with 3 cards; one that she'd bought, one made at school and one made at guides :D

She fed and let out the animals for me and brought me tea and cereals in bed :D:D:D

We went into London to meet some friends I've known for over 20 years, we had a super lunch and then pottered around Covent Garden.

The day started with OH going off to the allotment at 7.15 to put up some raspberry supports leaving me to be spoilt by our 3 children.

The creeping along the landing and whispering started at 7.20 ED told the younger 2 that it was too early to give me breakfast, so she stayed in bed and the other 2 just went ahead anyway  I got proper tea made with tea leaves in a teapot at 7.50 and my cereal and toast arrived at 8am. I then got 3 lovely cards and pressies :D ED was a bit upset that the others had done my breakfast so she brought more tea :D

OH then came home and we went for a swim followed by a visit to Homebase for paint for my very battered kitchen cupboards and some cabbage plants. Back home for a lovely ham salad baguette followed by some gentle seed sowing in the sunshine.

ED cooked most of our roast, while I watched Liverpool win 5-0 on Sky  after we had eaten we watched Time Team then OH and I both rang our Mums.

A good day :D

Well, had a nice card from DD and pressie was a big ceramic chicken to put the extra eggs in and 3 matching drying up cloths! Tried putting the eggs in and dropped one on the floor! DS was staying in London over the weekend, but he called to say Happy Mother's Day and he would give me a big hug when he got home - which he did. Went to mums and we both mowed and strimmed the grass but were too knackered to do the front, so brought her back for dinner. Then I went round this morning to finish it all off. She is well chuffed - not only that, she now knows how to use the equipment and already had a strimming session before I got there!

We all got up early and went Church - most of my family were there too. It was the first we'd taken our youngest to a Sunday morning service, and he was surprisingly well behaved. Then to Tescos as we had no food in the house. After lunch I tried reading my book but fell asleep instead. My parents came round for tea, which hubby cooked, yummy roast beef & yorkshire pud. Had a picture from my eldest that he made in nursery, 2 footprints with the words 'Put your feet up'. Hubby bought me a card on their behalf, and a Foo Fighters t-shirt from Play that I sent him a link for. Good day! :D

Looks like I'm the only one to have had a rubbish mothers day - no cards or presents of any kind. One of my sisters had decided to take the kids to legoland for the day so kids didn't do anything for me. ES was awake when OH went to make my cup of tea and ES didn't stir from the tv. I spent the day tidying as the kids were out and OH was putting down floorboards. Their games room was so messy that as I attached legs to the desk I was putting in as a work table I accidentially knocked their b****y telescope onto my head which still hurts

Only person who made an effort was my sisters middle son who drove around to mine after work (over an hrs drive) so he could make tea for my sister and I - wonder if she'd swap - I'd do a 2 for 1 offer at the moment

Mine was pretty busy as we had my mum - in - law over for sunday lunch. My oh was supposed to be cooking but he has this great trick of dissapearing when something needs doing then turning up in the kitchen and asking if he can do anything when its all done  He managed to keep this up all day. He has it off to a fine art.

However it was a lovley day and we had a good time.
