LisaP
Strange combination you might think but I am very proud to say that my Dad completed his 11th London Marathon (he's done 17 marathons in various places ) on Sunday in 6h 22m . This was his slowest time, he normally does them in 4 1/2 - 5 hrs, but he decided to take it easier this time Still sounds good to me - unfortunately it is not a genetic capability and I couldn't run for a bus Now to explain where Katie Price fits into the title - Dad was jogging along and found himself alongside her and Peter Andre. Being him, he said hello to her and she responded and apparently they had a lovely chat (like you do when running a marathon ). He says she was very pleasant and down to earth and I think he was just a little chuffed Oh and by the way my Dad is 76 Lisa P

Martin B
Yep. I shamefully have to admit that I am a very bad runner. Well done to your dad, it's great to hear people doing such good things.
The Dogmother
Good for him! Just one observation... I hope that Katie Price wears a jolly good sports bra! My dad is 77 and still swims 10 lengths daily - he recently scaled down from 20 lengths.

stoice
WOW, 76? I can just about run a bath, never mind a marathon! Well done Lisas Dad - and everyone that took part, whether they finished it or not. The months of training through winter weather is just as much of a chore I should imagine. BeckyBoo
Was your Dad also interviewed briefly for TV? Only I caught an interview (you know where the interviewer jogs along with people talking to them (when they're really out of breath!) and THAT was a guy who was in his 70s and had done numerous marathons, made me ashamed really, I must get off my bottom and get fit! Well done everyone who completed it, much admiration and respect BeckyBoo
kitbag
Well done to your Dad! And also to Katie and Peter who i hear were struggling with training! chelsea
as for Katie Price, i know it might be a bit controversal, but I like her! No, honestly! I like her aswell actually, and I've watched some of her series and she is very good with Harvey her disabled son. She's worked hard to get where she's to and as my dear nan would say "she calls a spade a spade"....I like her openess. Well done to your dad, Im rather that a man his age can run 26 miles and I can barely manage 1!
LisaP
Thanks everyone, I will pass on your congratulations. BeckyBoo - I don't think it was him on TV, he would definitely have mentioned that To be honest I have never been a fan of Katie Price but Dad was very impressed with how friendly and down to earth she was, not at all what he'd expected. I should have mentioned that he was running for charity which he always does Lisa P
