Joojoo
Do you want some time to think about that Joo? Erm let me think? errrrrrrrrr NOPE Sadly, I've had personal experience of just what a total muppet he is!!! That's unkind to muppets!! Luckily I had enough nouse myself to be able to sort out the problem (which wasn't small) without his help.
Guest
I would. My MP is Peter Ainsworth and he is excellent. If there was any scandal to do with him I would assume it was a mistake on his part rather than deliberate.

Seagazer
No - although I did meet him a couple of years ago and he was actually very nice but my MP is/was Derek Conway who was in the paper for having paid his student son about £30 grand for "working for him". Clash City Rocker
I'd like to see a ballot paper with the usual list of names on as per any election plus a new box at the bottom of the list titled "none of the above" then I might go and vote

If you write over your ballot paper with your views, all "spoiled" papers have to be shown to the candidates. I did that once, made a sticky label and stuck it over my ballot paper as there were only 2 parties represented and 5 candidates, my logic was, thats not a choice for the voter, so thats what I said. Valkyrie
Depends if I thought expenses justifiable. If he bought plugs, light bulbs, a few holiday homes, barbeques for each house and patio heaters, funding a mistress, then I would give him the chop. Not to mention the lewd videos. Ours is Arbuthnott.
Jillus
Please, can anyone explain why they can claim £400 a month for food? ( This is all year round and not just when Parliament is sitting) They can only eat in one place at one time so food is not an EXTRA expense if they have two houses. We have to buy ALL our food ALL of the time. I am very very tempted to spoil my ballot paper this time so that they know just how I feel. Sick and very very angry Pigs with snouts in the trough comes to mind.
sadietoo
Sadly in this part of the world it wouldn't matter if I voted for him or not....you could put a blue rosette on a donkey here and it would still get elected
Valkyrie
Ah, the newsflash this evening said that Mr Arbuthnot claimed over £1K for cleaning his swimming pool. But it was an error (my big fat bottom it was) and he will repay it. Oh well that makes it all better doesn't it. Their biggest fault is that they even had the gall to claim in the first place. £100 for 25 light bulbs to be put in? Why couldn't he do it himself (not Arbuthnot, some other twit) like the rest of us do. Why did 25 light bulbs need replacing at the same time? Mine all seem to go at odd times - which then blows a fuse resulting in a trip into the garage and climb over something to get to the box. Did his house gradually get darker as each bulb went out over a period of time because he was too lazy to change a ruddy lightbulb himself? I haven't even seen the other greedy (no animal on earth to compare this shower to) claimants apart from DOG FOOD!!!!! Then they say ooh we have to let them have a lot of money because we don't want the thick people to run the country. Well how patronising and condescending! How dare they, when the ordinary folk (unqualified to be in power) wouldn't even think of putting such unethical claims as they have. I'm right disgusted I am. So I'd better go before I fill up more ranting space and I think you've seen enough of me. So as I don't think Arbuthnott had a feasible excuse he can damned well walk the plank. I'm going to vote for The Monster Raving Looney Party - if they are still going.
littleleicesterfox
I'm lucky enough to have James Gray as an MP - if the name rings a bell it's because he was the MP who cheated on his wife when she had breast cancer. Honestly, nothing he did would surprise me any more because he's a slimy horrible person...
Valkyrie
OK, so someone has a moat. Today I didn't get angry - it's got to the point where I laugh. Surely "Ooops, word censored!"ody can top that one.
Tessa the Duchess
OK, so someone has a moat. Today I didn't get angry - it's got to the point where I laugh. Surely "Ooops, word censored!"ody can top that one. I laughed at the moat too Some Tory MP claimed for having a chandelier replaced Our MP is really nice, Lynne Featherstone Lib Dem. I didn't vote for her, am lifelong Labour supporter, but at the next election I may change the habit of a lifetime Tessa
Valkyrie
Some Tory MP claimed for having a chandelier replaced Did the other one break because he was swinging on it? If your current MP's nice and you are happy with her (and she hasn't been misbehaving), I see no reason to change - it's her colleagues and other party members that have let her down. I don't have a particular party that I vote for, I just go for the one that feels right at the time, but I kind of like Boris Johnson because he is so dippy, yet incredibly clever underneath all that buffoonery. It's a pity the government can't be a mix of all the good ones working together, then perhaps we won't be such a laughing stock around the world anymore - and by being different parties they would each keep the others in check if need be. earthmam1
Hi My MP is Sandra Gidley (Lib Dem) and as yet, nothing has appeared in the papers about Lib Dems. I have to say she seems to be quite good. I belong to Amnesty International and she always answers our letters, comes to any big "do" we have and any time I have contacted her she always replies. She is a Romsey person, still lives here with her family and shops quite often in the local supermarket. Somebody else might have a different idea though sue
Guest
TBH I'm unlikely to know if my MP is in such a scandal as I don't read the papers or look at news stories of this nature. Frankly they are all at it! I would still vote for him if I heard he had though becasue you only get one choice of who to vote for unless you change parties and I'm not going to do that. I do know our counsillor quite well personally and I think he is an arrogant chauvenistic twerp - whenever I am in a meeting with him it is quite clear that he thinks very little of women in such a situation. Again I'm still voting for him as he is from the party I wish to support. I guess my other option would be to "vote with my feet" and not turn out on polling day but I think people who waste their vote should be shot. I firmly believe in the democratic system, I love the fact that we have freedom of speech and all parties are ALLOWED. I may not vote BNP or support BNP BUT I believe it is right that they are allowed to stand as some of their more fanatical supporters would be far more dangerous in an "outlawed" environment than one controlled by such strict rules as our own political system. Oh I got on my high horse then didn't I? I believe this may be tomorrows PSHE lesson.
Jillus
I have been feeling frustrated and angry about this whole sorry affair but today Norman Tebbit came up with the ideal way that we can make our feelings felt. He suggest that in the forthcoming European elections we all either boycott the elctions or vote for anyone but the three main parties This way we get a message across in a subtle but hopefully powerful way. It is an easy but highly effective way to make a statement that they must take notice of.
