It was a shock * UPDATE *

Recommended Posts

Hi

Just to let you all know how things are going. I start 3 weeks of radiotherapy

tomorrow.

I saw the oncologist about three weeks ago to discus what treatment I will

have. Well all the results of my operation was fed into the computer and

it gives you what treatment it recomends. As I had a grade three tumour I

would only benefit by 2% by having chemo and only 1% for a grade 1 or 2.

So he said it just wasnt worth having the chemo . As you can imagine I was

highly delighted could have kissed him!!!!

I am also on a breast cancer trial involving two thousand other women

nationwide.

Joy xx

 sending all positive vibes for thursday :)

A friend of mine emigrated to Aus' and has gone through treatment for breast cancer - she has continued to work when possible - but my advice is take it easy. Your body does need time to heal - and listen to it :!:

Have what you fancy, when you fancy - sounds crazy BUT I know you will have lots of nods in agreement

Best wishes

All the best from me, too. If it is any help, while I was having radiotherapy I didn't feel more tired until towards the end of the course, and then took to having a sleep in the afternoons. After that, it was a long time before my energy levels returned to normal, so be gentle with yourself if you experience this too. After (not before, for reasons given earlier) the radiotherapy was finished, every evening before bed I used to massage my arm and breast on the affected side with essential oils (lemon to help lymphatic circulation, and lavender) in a Clarins carrier oil.
