Meet the Japanese Ladies!

Recommended Posts

So a week after they arrived I have finally got some decent (ish) pictures of the little ladies that I came home with last Sunday when I met Tasha and Claire at the Northants Poultry Club Show.

Introducing:

Shio - Salt

Koshou - Pepper

Excuse the muddy wing tips.....they had an unplanned free-range earlier in the day

They are Motteled Japenese Bantams. They are gorgeous to look at but not used to human contact so the minute I go anywhere near their pen they scoot off to the safety of their bedroom....hence my camera memory card being full of blurry pics of their bums!

They are currenty residing in a large indoor rabbit hutch on the new "shelf" inside the WIR with the big girls but will move in with the bantams in the long term. Another week of quarentine and then we shall see how they range with the others :D

Sorry for the delay people: (cookie, Wild Mum and Space Chick) :anxious:

lovely, soo soo lovely, and I am soo sooo  !!

Would love japanese banties but have been told very firmly that we already have too many for one garden and given their size I'd be worried about the mogs!

I think I got told that at 11....... I've since gone up to 22 & back down to 19 :anxious:

I was told no more at 3!

Lovely girls, Em.

Watch them for lice and mites though - as they are so close to the ground, they always pick them up first - well, my Japanese girl does.

Thanks for the tip Claret! :D

They are mellowing out a bit I think.....less scooting off when they see me
