Are you working over Christmas?

Recommended Posts

Luckily I'm off Christmas Eve and Christmas Day but after that I'm on 7 days in a row, starting with 7-4 nights on Boxing Day. Actually, that's not as bad as it sounds as I'll be with the littlies all day then they're off to their Dads for a round of relative visiting for two days. Luckily I'm day shifts on New Years Eve and Day, so I get the extra money but still get to go out!! (providing I can persuade Mum to babysit!!:lol: )

I'm working Boxing Day from about 9.30am until 6pm but I don't really consider it a chore. I'm the deputy manager in a bookies and for me Boxing Day is all about spending the afternoon in front of the telly watching the racing while chomping on some nibbles. I had the choice of spending the day with my in-laws AAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH or managing the shop. No contest! Most of the punters are absolutely lovely, it'll be nice to see them and share my mince pies and sausage rolls, watch the racing and get paid for it

Poor you :( Coat hanger?1.gif

Just realised how daft that sounds. It's not a coathanger, but it's about the same thickness of a metal coathanger and has a hook at the end and it's sticking out the tip of my toe, but goes down through the bone the whole length of the toe. I think the hook is so they can grab it to pull it out! :vom: Thanks for your message. :)

dippy bird I'm sorry to read about your redundancy. :(

I once spent from 5am Christmas morning until boxing day in labour and I felt sorry for the midwives on duty. DD celebrates her 12th birthday on 26th!!!!

I finished work on Friday and return again on 4th January. Kids are back on the 12th!!! Lucky kids. :D

OH has been called out on standby and has to go to work at lunch time Christmas day and back late 27th. He'll miss all of DD birthday. :(
