ISCA
I have been forced inside with relentless sneezing...darn hayfever. I don't think the Diatom or BioDri powder helped either! Never mind, the coop is now spick n span Achoooo! Hope all you hayfever sufferers are managing.

sadietoo
Snap...the Rape is out down the road from us.... I have spent the day on the water, and still ended up sneezing all my way home!
theherd123
Kleenex anyone?!!! (Other nose blowing tissues are available!) This evening I have been terrible. I thought i had got away lightly this year too!
Seagazer
We have it in this house too. YS has definitely got it, been tested and has some horrendous times with it and then ES is always sneezing but refuses to take anti-histamines. OH and I appear to have it very mildly (YS has just sneezed as I'm typing). I meant to get him some local honey but totally forgot again. I think you're supposed to start taking it well before the season starts.
Christian
Not a huge fan of honey, but thought I would give it a go. Apparently, you have to use honey produced within 5 miles of your home? My local garden centre sells it, so I visited to be told they sold out weeks ago Zirtek (or the cheapest equivalent) for me once a day, Doc recommended to take it before bed which I now do and seems to be better than taking it in the morning. Ioniser in the bedroom to drag all the pollen particles to the floor, seems to be doing the trick too.
patsylabrador
The weather is set to change, so hopefully that will give you all some relief.
Space Chick
Anti histamines with a saline nasal spray here, and it is keeping it at bay... for the moment anyway
The Dogmother
It's particularly bad this year, isn't it? I get it from tree pollen and rape seed. I have found the herbal 'Pollena' tablets to be brilliant.
Jools
I've tried all sorts, from injections as a child, to nasal inhaler contraptions in my teens (talk about embarrassing), and over the counter/prescription meds which turned me into a zombie. I now use Tincture of Propolis from Beelief and absolutely swear by it. I've converted a few friends and family too.
BarbaraJ
My Hayfever is very odd, i have had it since i was 7 so nearly 40years. 3 years ago i had a horrendous summer with filters on the bedroom windows, eye drops nasal spray and strong anti-hists, also had to use an inhaler at times. 2 years ago i was on steroids at this time of year for unexplained scary allergic reaction, they never found what was the problem and it happened twice, last year i managed on tablets and nasal spray, this year though said to be a bad year i have taken 2 tablets so far. All very odd, i'm usually well into suffering by now!! hope its a sign that maybe i've grown out of it but doubt it as have had occasional good years. The Dogmother
Has anyone else grown into their hayfever? I started to get it 10 years ago, you'd think that with all the fur and feathers at home, I;d be allergic to one of them, but no.
Christian
Thanks Jools, never heard of that. Looks good, I think I will try it.

Jools
You're welcome - it's been around for years that I know of. Well I've been posting about it on different forums for years anyway lol.
Tiggy
certirazine all year round for me but now need eye drops and nasal spray, our local pollen count was reported as low, that can never be right
chickencam
My ED started with bad hayfever last year (at 15), she nearly gouged her eyes out until she was given Fexofenadine tablets and a Flixonase nasal spray, this has controlled it very well. She is just coming into her worse spell this year, but the tablets and spray are doing a good job, which is just as well, because she is doing her GCSE's. Seagazer
I think I might take YS back to the doctors to see about a nasal spray. Trouble is where he has a broken nose it sort of traps the pollen up there. His nose is constantly blocked up (although he can only breathe out of one side properly anyway). I've just been to Boots but they only had a Vicks Sinex Micromist spray. The nasal hayfever spray they had was only for over 18's. We haven't tried anything else. I guess it might be worth taking him back to the doctors as they last saw him about it about 6 years ago. They had prescribed him loratadine before which we've just been buying. I really don't know how he copes at this time of the year. I'm hoping he'll change his mind about having his nose op (he doesn't want it). chickencam
All I had to do last year with ED was ring the practice nurse practitioner and she organised a prescription for her. Last week both of my daughters were seen one by the nurse one by the doctor because they each had a blocked ear. They were both told that it would be cleared by using a nasal spray. ED hadn't been using hers this year and YD was prescribed Beconase. I wasn't sure with YD if it was owing to a virus that she had about a month ago or if she was showing signs of hayfever, but the doctor said that the treatment would be much the same in either case. It does seem to be improving after a week.
Seagazer
Thats good, I hope it carries on improving for them both
jlo
I never had hayfever as a child but only started a few years ago. Last year was pretty bad. My friend does reflexology and said that this could help. I was pretty sceptical but thought that there was nothing to lose as the thought of having my feel massaged appealed anyway. I have to say that it has really helped. It hasn't gone all together but I can cope with the odd sneeze. I can recommend her for anyone in the Basingstoke area!!
