Old Speckled Hen
One of the ales we're selling is Old Speckled Hen! And I found out today that it was named after a car at MG's Abingdon plant which was used as a runaround and parked up outside the paint shop and ended up splattered. It became known as the Owld Speckl'd'un. The beer was launched to celebrate MG's 50th year and so was named Old Speckled Hen. Aww

Ain't Nobody Here
sounds like a good night, hope everyone is being quiet around you Noise isn't the issue, it's lack of sleep . The alarm was set for 4am . I'm sure I was still a bit drunk so thankfully OH drove us to the airport . I went back to bed for 2 hrs and dreamt that the army had marched on our street and taken over my garden. I was so upset that they were putting great big boards all over my lovely garden. They'd also removed one end of the WIR and were lying on the perches . I was glad to wake up . (I suspect it was seeing heavily armed police at the airport that did it .) patsylabrador
I thought Kate Moss looked lovely in her wedding pictures. I don't like the overblown pageant look so I thought she looked delightful.

chickencam
Love a glass of Pimms , bought 1l bottle from tesco today £9.49 bargain except that the till operator put it through twice, just as well I noticed, she was very apologetic, but you do have to watch Mr Tesco DS is amazingly fine today after his teeth out yesterday, it hasn't put him off his food one bit

chickencam
Just heard that my uncle was made redundant along with 70 colleagues on Friday when the printing firm that he worked for went down He was due to retire at the end of September, I just hope that his pension was protected. It has been a really bad week for businesses going down, I feel for all of those involved
HappyhenSG
I thought Kate Moss looked lovely in her wedding pictures. I don't like the overblown pageant look so I thought she looked delightful. Just seen the pics - a beautiful dress. My little claim to fame - I went to school with her new hubby, Jamie Must dig out the old school photos!! He was a very nice lad and rather popular with the girls, perhaps not surprisingly Not seen him since we left school in '85 though.
snowberry
The clouds over here have been beautiful! Not a type I have seen much before & they had a lovely pink tint; so much so that the Neighbours From Hell rang me to tell me to look out for them! Almost like a DNA string, sideways! patsylabrador
Went to Grey's Court, near Henley. It's a lovely place to visit, the gardens are beautiful, plenty of parking & lots of countryside walks. The kitchen has features ranging from the 14th century to the 1970s. It also has a tower you can clamber up to get wonderful views & people watch.

It has been a really bad week for businesses going down, I feel for all of those involved Yes you are right, things are still pretty grim. Lot of people up here work for Bombardier where the future looks pretty bad. Then there are people in the PCT (not offered to me) getting big payouts for redundancy

sadietoo
Sounds great ali-s. And how lovely to come back to a tidy home too! I went to Bignor Weed and Wildflower festival today, and was absolutely knocked out by the flower displays in the Church...fantastic, lots of interesting stalls and enthusiastic people happy to share their knowledge, including some people making beautiful flower garlands....the weather was fabulous and the views across the Sussex Downs were as always superb. If you're in the area for the next one, and the weather is good, I thoroughly recommend a visit...http://bigweed.bignorchurch.org/?reloaded=true
stoice
Completed The Race for Life today. I power walked it with my mum and my dog Gina. Was a really hot day, but a great atmosphere, a few houses along our river-walk route laid on cups of water, water for dogs or had their sprinklers on for us all to cool down. Gina wore a pink collar I'd bought her for the occasion and she also got a medal and goodie bag like Mum and I. My friend came along to watch and vowed when she is well after her chemo will do it with me next year too (With her two dogs). Great fun and a great way to raise money for such a good cause. Off to bed now, am pooped!

patsylabrador
Impressed with our dustbin men. Some people had foolishly left their bin bags out and the foxes had scattered the rubbish everywhere. The bin men cleared it all up off the road and pavement. Good blokes.
