Sheilaz Posted August 17, 2011 Author Share Posted August 17, 2011 Thank you all, it's different for everyone, but we're outwardly coping OK and appreciating the positives of the love we had, we were so lucky to have had such happiness. Equally, that's what makes it harder too, the heartbreak. Just to add, the children are not young, it must be harder when they are. E is 15 and the others are 24, 26, 28. So, we're 5 adults (nearly) sticking together, clinging together, for strength as one. They are amazing, and we have each other. "Better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all." Sheilaz Posted September 13, 2011 Author Share Posted September 13, 2011 So, 5 weeks on from August 7th, today's the day, we're holding a memorial service in celebration of Shep's life. For those who haven't seen, there's a tribute to him if you click on the news page on www.riverchessassociation.co.uk The funeral was held on August 19th and we scattered the ashes last Friday at the River Chess. It was beautiful and felt just right. Thank you everyone for the kind words on this topic, and support offline.
