To those who know me; tragic news

Recommended Posts

Dear Teabag,

I've never met you but am lost for words. I feel so sorry for you and your family at this difficult time. I have no idea of what the right thing to say is but I have to say something. I'm glad the messages here are helping, I think you were so brave to make your initial post.

I hope things will become easier for you.

God Bless x

I have hesitated to post again, because I really don't know you at all, but I have thought about you every day since your original post. As a fellow survivor, I know you will be finding the strength to get through these days from somewhere, they have to be weathered somehow....sending love and cyber support to you and your family through this incredibly difficult time xxxx

Thank you all, it's different for everyone, but we're outwardly coping OK and appreciating the positives of the love we had, we were so lucky to have had such happiness. Equally, that's what makes it harder too, the heartbreak.

Just to add, the children are not young, it must be harder when they are.

E is 15 and the others are 24, 26, 28. So, we're 5 adults (nearly) sticking together, clinging together, for strength as one. They are amazing, and we have each other.

"Better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all." :D:(

It might feel like it Sheila but you haven't lost him, sorry if it sounds like a cliché but he is in your heart and lives on in your wonderful children.

I couldn't agree more Sheila. S was a lovely man and I know that you'll all keep his memory alive.

So, 5 weeks on from August 7th, today's the day, we're holding a memorial service in celebration of Shep's life. For those who haven't seen, there's a tribute to him if you click on the news page on www.riverchessassociation.co.uk

The funeral was held on August 19th and we scattered the ashes last Friday at the River Chess. It was beautiful and felt just right.

Thank you everyone for the kind words on this topic, and support offline.

Your thoughts and Omlet vibes would be appreciated at 2pm, and for the rest of the day and evening, thank you dear friends.
