I used to feel the cold too CC (low blood pressure) but am of an age now where I feel a lot warmer, partly due to moving around a lot.

 

No heating on here tonight, nor have I lit the stove. I've been doing the housework in t shirt sleeves, the room stat says 19deg and I;m lovely and toasty.

We haven't even lit the fire tonight, it is quite mild here. I don't like the house to be too warm before bed. We haven't touched the heating yet, maybe at the weekend if we are all in.

still no heating on here too. Only had 2 fires, weeks ago. But we do have the Age on 24/7 so that provides more than enough heat. We always have windows open in our bedroom too. MiL has had heating on in annex for weeks, and an electric heater in her sun lounge for the last couple of weeks

Cyclonetog - I had a boiler installed for cash for £1500 - it was a good one too - Worcester 29 or something. I used a local plumber who was, of course, properly registered to do gas. It is worth shopping around.

 

How long ago? I think prices have snowballed this year. If a gas safe registered plumber offered me a Worcester Bosch fitted for £1500, he'd be here tomorrow!

I paid about £3,000 for a new Vaillant boiler, powerflush, pressurised tank and TRVs on about 20 radiators so I can't see it is that unreasonable.

We've just had a Worcester fitted for £2000 by a Gas Safe plumber.

It was tested on one of the hottest days at the end of September........and we haven't had it on since!

I'm fine with the heating on for 15 mins in the morning (room stat is set to 19deg) and the stove of an evening. It's so mild..... for the time being

Still not put mine on, despite my earlier post - it's been so mild, and the woodburner has kept the kitchen warm.

 

Another friend is coming to stay tomorrow night for a week, and she is one of those people who's always cold (their house is permanently at about 30 degrees, at least that's what it feels like!) So I think I will have to relent, however I am very happy at having held out so far. I'm delighted to say that I got a Slanket for my birthday so on the rare occasions that I watch TV, I'll be on the sofa with that!

I put ours on for the first time today for 10 mins just to warm baby grandaughters towel and pj's as she is here for the weekend soon as she was on bed I had to open the window to let some heat out phew being over fifty is a nightmare

I turned the thermostat up so the heating came on for the first time yesterday evening and again for a short while this morning. Can't believe we got to November before having to have it on.

I put the heating on timer last night ready for this monring but the stat is turned right down, it did come on enough to take the edge off this morning.

I have plugged in one of our new Dimplex eco oil free heaters as it is just so cold here this morning (boiler gave up the ghost a few years ago and just can't afford to replace it ). I could barely feel my fingers whilst typing Maybe I should get on with the ironing........

Ours is on,but apart from our heated towel rail in the bathroom (warm,dry towels again - yay!), all the rads are on a very low setting,so are barely even warm.

It does help just to take the chill off,though.

Yes, I do the ironing when I'm very cold . . .

I'm worrying about when it gets really cold. I'm already in my thermals I've got a friend who seems always to be in a T shirt, no matter what the season. Can't help but envy her a tad.

We have it on for an hour at 6am and 5pm. It was 1deg this morning but beautifully sunny.

Having said that tho our boiler is being temperamental and doesn't always believe me when I ask it to start

We're still making do with lighting the woodburner in the evenings, lucky that the weather is still mild enough in November to save on the LPG.

Does it count that i have had to put the heating on for my little yorkie who is day 1 post op and needs to be kept warm ? i'm sitting in a t shirt i am so warm , she has had a patella repair after damaging it chasing a cat out of the garden Sunday evening .( She must have turned so fast in the muddy garden she has hurt the other one too and it will need surgery in the new year .) I am broke now but she is insured .

I only have the heating on low , she is nice and warm, she had just grown her winter coat too and now its all shaved off her hind quater to foot such a shame.
