clootie
Had to see how my old chookie friends were getting on. I just noticed that it was 2008 when I joined! Shocking! Where did that time go?

clootie
City living now and a business to run that keeps me out all day. Plus, no garden! I do miss them with their big fluffy bloomers and funny personalities. Miss the eggs too. Oh well, maybe one day.

LuckyChickenLover-
I don't suppose anyone remembers me? It's been a while! When I signed up I was a naive little 13 year old... now I'm a proper growed up adult of almost 20 (and still in denial about it)! Sadly I don't have the chooks any more, or any pets at all for that matter . My mother kept all my pets when I went away to university last September. My building now doesn't allow pets, nor do I currently feel like I'm in a position to properly care for an animal, but my flatmates and I are really keen to get a hamster next year. Sadly my old hens, Priscilla and Lucky, have moved onto the big coop in the sky at the ages of 5 and 6 respectively. They were happy right to the end though, Lucky even gave us an egg a couple of weeks before she passed away! I got another bunny two years ago (Barney, found dumped on the side of the road on my way to work one weekend!), but sadly both him and my old girl bunnies also succumbed to various conditions recently. It's really not the same not having animals around the house and I can't wait until I move somewhere that will allow me to have them; stuffed animals and a pot plant just won't cover it! Despite not having any pets, I've kept my love for animals alive and currently study veterinary medicine at the Royal Veterinary College, which is as exciting as it is difficult! There's tonnes to learn but I wouldn't have it any other way; it's what I always dreamt of and I'm having the time of my life . I've joined the rowing team and the zoological society which have both been good fun. Sadly there haven't been too many chicken lectures yet, but we'll see how it goes as I'd quite like to specialise in 'exotic' pet practice in the future . I'm getting to do a placement at a free range chicken farm over summer and I'm really looking forward to that. 12,000 chookies await me! That's about it for now. It's a shame I kind of faded away from here as you guys are super nice (also, please may I apologise for my ridiculous and highly embarrassing younger self ) Hopefully I'll pop back from time to time to check in Edited April 28, 2016 by Guest

I also cringe when I look back at old posts Let us know how your poultry EMS goes Pssstt... I'm Little Tail Chaser on TSR Small (internet) world eh? Embarassing isn't it? Still, had to start somewhere and I'm still grateful for all the good advice I received on here when I was a kid Will do! One of my flatmates went to the farm over Easter and had a really good time. She said the welfare of the hens was excellent so it should be an interesting experience.

docsquid
I'm still alive! But no chickens. My health has been up and down over the past few years, and last year I spent a lot of time in hospital. It was too much for my DH to take care of the business, visit me in hospital, take care of two ageing cats (one now deceased) and all the chickens. Fortunately a friend has had all our chickens and hen houses and we still get eggs from our old girls from time to time.
