Omlet Hamster Cage For Sale Best Offer

[Ain't Nobody Here]

Must have been the mention of chickens in my application that did it . I'm so excited as I really want this job (and to leave my current job ) but scared because I've hardly any experience of interviews .

Any tips on what a charity might ask at interview and anything they might be looking for (interest in birds and conservation aside!).

No tips I'm afraid but just wanted to wish you the best of luck!

Well done getting an interview, fingers crossed for you

[soapdragon]

Don't worry about what you think you SHOULD say....just be yourself! Clearly you are very enthusiastic about the post and that will come across!

Good luck!

[sparkysmum]

Well done on getting this far! So verrrrrry pleased for you. They think you can do the job otherwise they wouldn't be interviewing you So just think how you can make yourself more appealing than other candidates. What skills and qualities do you have which will enable you to do the job better than anyone else and obviously brush up on everything you know about the organisation. At the end when they ask if you have any questions, if you haven't say so but remember to thank them for seeing you. Also good apparently is to prepare a 1 minute "sell yourself" pitch and leave them on this note, so they are remembering really positive things about you.

Good luck! Awrra Best! Axx

[Ain't Nobody Here]

That's good advice, thanks! I'm going to jot down any key facts I can find on their website in the hope that I can remember them well enough to spout forth a bit if they ask what I know about the RSPB .

[sparkysmum]

Where & when?

[Ain't Nobody Here]

This Thursday at 1pm at The Gyle (just along from OH's work - we could liftshare if he didn't cycle to work!).

[mullethunter]

It's definitely a good idea to find out about the RSPB as an organisation. Make sure you know (and not just assume / think you know) what they do, what the role you've applied for entails and how that fits in with the aims of the organisation. Ring someone there to ask if you're not sure or want a bit extra, it never hurts if they already know your name.

Be calm but friendly.

I hope none of that sounds patronising, it's just that I recently interviewed and several of he interviewees clearly had no idea what they'd actually be doing if they were successful and it looks really bad as it comes across that they aren't bothered enough to do a little background research. Reflects particularly badly when compared to others who have!

Good luck

Well done on getting an interview thats the first hurdle over and not long to worry about it.

My eldest recently had an interview and was successful she did some background research on the company and the thing they liked was she was prepared to be flexible and interested in the job she had applied for rather than it just being any old job to give her some money, and stop her parents nagging her!

[Ain't Nobody Here]

Not patronising at all . The job title is Administrator for the Fundraising and Communications Department. I hope I'll be able to put across without babbling incoherently that I'm interested in wildlife, the environment and conservation and that I'd love the chance to work for a charity which actively campaigns for all these things!

[Charlottechicken]

Ooh, good luck! Sounds right up your street

[patsylabrador]

Good Luck!!! Really hope it goes well.

[Egluntyne]

Best of luck x

[Purplemaniacs]

Good luck ANH, I hope it works out for you.

[WitchHazel]

I would guess they are more interested in your Admin skills than your interest/knowledge of the RSPB, although showing that you have done some research can only help

Good luck, I'll have everything crossed for you.

[Olly]

Good luck.

Maybe your OH could get a tandem?

[Valkyrie]

@ the tandem!!!

Yep, I agree with WitchHazel. My son went for an interview and really brushed up on the company's history and dealings. The interviewers weren't interested at all - they basically said they weren't interested in the past or present, but more focused on the future. I said that was weird!!!

So be yourself, do a little research to be on the safe side if it crops up and sell your abilities. And GOOOOOOD LUCK!!!!

[dancing cloud]

If they haven't made it clear already, at question time you can always ask how the role contributes to the bigger organisation and/or how they see the role developing in the future. They're the sort of things I usually like interviewees to ask, rather than asking about pay and conditions - which I'm sure you weren't going to!

Fingers, paws and claws crossed here .

[sparkysmum]

[chickencam]

Ditto from me too

[Lewis]

Good luck!

[dancing cloud]

Go get 'em!

[Purplemaniacs]

Good luck from me too

Chrissie

[Groovychook]

And from me, hope it goes well!

[Ain't Nobody Here]

Thank you everybody .

Feel slightly sick but have been gathering facts about the RSPB and also about myself so as long as I don't dry up, hopefully I'll be ok!

I've found photos on Linkedin of the 2 women interviewing me which is strangely comforting. "Know your enemy" or something like that .
