Snowy
Never seen the grumpy series! But I do hate it when I ask if a shop has something and they say "if it's not out, we haven't got any" I've worked in shops and I KNOW they have store rooms. Lazy lazy lazy! xChicken04x
I hate it when people say that things are out of stock too. I went to Tesco a few weeks ago and asked if they had any of the digital cameras i wanted left. Of couse they said no. So i went in search of my Mums friend who works there and asked the same question. Of course 2 minutes later she comes back with the digital camera i wanted. The other lady got a nasty look then a hair flick AND my special "snub" face as i call it. Which is a mixture of this > and this > xx
starboyhull
I dont think its always a case of they cant be bothered, shops dont have a 100% stock all of the time, although sometimes staff in shops are just lazy I dont think its always the case...... craftyhunnypie
What winds me up - hmm lots of things! Like when you are going the right way round the car park & a car going the wrong way nicks the spot you were just about to pull into. When children press the button on the pedestrian crossing, then run off, causing you to have to stop for the invisible man. When you hold doors open for people & they can't even say thanks. The sales assistants in Claire's Accesories....would you like a nail file, a calculator etc etc for a £1! WHSMiths are as bad - would you like to reserve blah blah blah. Would you like a Dairy Milk giant bar for half price..... When something is on 3 for 2 and they only have 2 left! My bigest annoying thing at the moment is waiting for my subscription gift from Crafts Beautiful magazine. They keep fobbing me off saying that it has been sent. By what??? On the back of a snail??? They are quite shirty too, so if it doesn't turn up very soon - I'll cancel the direct debit! Oh & the very last thing is finding a pile of fag ends in my car parking spot at my work unit! We don't even smoke....but next door employs what we call a load of 'mooses' & they all smoke! There is one who even tho we have told her she still does it. So we now sweep them infront of next doors car parking spaces! This particualr ' moose' can't even park properly - she just cant get her wheels to stay inside the 2 white lines. Thicko! There rant over. That was fun! Emma.x
Guest
"if its not out we don't have it" You shop at the wrong places, in Waitrose they bend over backwards to find out - even the week before Christmas when my fave onion marmalade was missing from the shelf. Manager actually phoned me when it came in!!! Mind you that week they also staff the car park to help you find spaces and direct people to park in a number of designated spots where there are not spaces - Bluewater do the same. Lastly when it snows they grit the car park and SWEEP THE LINES SO YOU CAN SEE THE SPACES! Of course I'm a grumpy who wants the same from all shops. BeckyBoo
The latest one I keep being asked is "did you find everything you want today?" And I want to reply (but of course never do) "No, and I thought I'd wait til I queued up for ages at the checkout to ask for "x, y an d z" so I could hold everybody else up for ages whilst an incompetent, indifferent, spotty adolescent trawls round the supermarket looking to see if "every little helps" Because obviously I've made it to the ripe old age of 39 by the skin of my teeth, never quite finding what I want but previously having to go home slightly wanting in the grocery department. But thanks for asking anyway!" I also hate (even pre-puppy) people who don't pick up their dog poo, makes me want to launch one of smallest boys foulest nappies into their garden see how they like it. People who stop mid-aisle at the supermarket to chat, (particularly older ladies) leaving their trollies completelyblocking the way when I'm normally in a rush with at least one child in tow. THERE'S A COFFEE SHOP THERE IF YOU WANT TO CHAT, LET THE REST OF US SHOP! People who frown at me if I shout at my kids, YOU have them, see how you get on! Being pounced on by shop assistants as soon as I walk in the door "Can I help you?" "Yes, leave me alone to get on with it, I'm 39 I know how to look at a rack of clothes!" Cyclists who go through red lights, I challenged one the other day who went through the red light in front of my kids as they started to cross at a pedestrian crossing and the woman was AWFUL! "I'm in a rush, I was nowhere near them etc etc..." Luckily I was able to hit back with "Well, I'm a Police Officer and if you want to be respected on the roads and be given due consideration then you need to abide by the Highway Code, not go through red lights in front of children who are learning the rules of the road and ride in such a way that people won't think you're some lycra clad lunatic whose head looks like a bug due to the ridiculous elongated helmet and slanty sunglasses. For God's sake this is Bisley not the Tour de France!" Actually I didn't say that last bit but I wanted to! I LOVE THE GRUMPY OLD SERIES, and I'm gutted I missed last nights! Couperwife
I love the grumpy old.. series, me and my 2 SIL's are going to see Grumpy old women at Sunderland Empire (at least thats where I think it is ) I hate it when you go into town at lunchtime and you only have 20 minutes and there are a hundred old and retired people queueing up at the bank/post office. - why?????? they have all day, cant they go out at 1pm,2pm,3pm I also hate it when you go into a supermarket and there are either children running around like lunatics or people stopping for a chat with 7 of their friends, all of their children and they each have 2 trolleys ok, ill stop now
The Bantam of the Opera
i haven't seen this grumpy programme but from what i gather peopel are just complaining about stuff in general so iwill too! I work at on a childrens farm poop-a-scooping for pigs and what not all day and about 3 or 4 times a day i get people leaning over to me and saying "oo you've got a lovely job there havent you?" and then chuckling to themselves. It was funny the firs ttime but now its just getting annoying. I do CHOOSE to work there ya know! Also, i hate it when parents and adults have so little respect for me because im a teenager. At work, the parents of the kids im entertaining talk to me like dirt, if their kid gets pushed in front of by another kid they have a go at me, not the other parent or the older staff members, theyre lovely and polite to them! and when me and my boyfriend were at the aquarium the other day all the parent s were shoving their kids in front of us at the tanks etc. we didnt get a look in! grrr. no offence to any of teh parents on here you all seem to be lovely people! Snowy
Poor you Jem - working with the public is not always a rewarding job! Stick to the animals! My bugbear is drivers Today I was driving along a street with cars parked along the left hand side of the road. A car coming towards me had right of way, so I pulled over to let her come forwards. Whereupon the idiots behind me overtook me and drove on - at least three of them, until I edged out in front of them again. Both myself and the woman coming towards me just shook our heads and shrugged our shoulders - the other drivers were completely oblivious to what they had done! Lesley
I hate it when you go into town at lunchtime and you only have 20 minutes and there are a hundred old and retired people queueing up at the bank/post office. - why?????? they have all day, cant they go out at 1pm,2pm,3pm I think they must move on to the supermarkets after they've all queued for blood tests at the hospital . Blood Testing starts at 8.30 so you go along at 8.10 to be early because A. you have work to go to and B. you need a fasting blood test and are starving.......... There they all are - like a breakfast club without any breakfast ................ and you have to take ticket number 1265141 from the machine because they've all been there since 7.30 - or perhaps they camp overnight? .........and....... they all have disabled parking permits and don't have to pay while I have to put at least two hours on my car for a blood test which takes all of 1 minute I think I'd better go and lie down now
chickencam
My personal moan is when my children stand back to let people past or open doors politely the people in question do not say thankyou or acknowledge them in any way. There are so many who are prepared to criticize the youth of today for their bad manners and behaviour, but how are they supposed to learn respect if adults do not show them respect. Children learn by example.
Popcorn
That's a good example of how not to behave isn't it. I must admit I sometimes get the hump if I'm not thanked for assisting somebody, opening doors, pulling in for cars, standing up on a bus etc.....a simple smile would do if they can't raise a hand or say thank you. Egluntyne
It irritates me when I hold a door open for someone and they sail through without so much as a glance. I always, in a bright and cheery voice say "You're welcome" in the hope of embarrassing them.
The Dogmother
I do too Egluntine. I've taken to embarassing people by reminding them of their good manners - I thank them if they forget to thank me, I flash them to drive through and wave thank you when they forget... they'll get the hang of it one day.... I don't mind being a grumpy old bag, in fact I quite enjoy it.
chickencam
Glad I'm not the only one. When you see this lack of consideration it's not suprising that people can't sustain relationships, beacause maybe they treat their nearest and dearest with the same contempt. Rhapsody
He he there's nothing like a good ol moan is there...? My top blood-boiling spectacle lately is people who let their vile toddlers stand in the supermarket trolley in their outdoor shoes-ewwww I really want to put my food in there now thanks!
