One Man Banned
I've been flicking through the Christmas Radio Times, and while I normally wouldn't want to sit in front of a TV all day (unless playing on the Wii of course ) I think I'll be glued to the sofa most of Christmas Afternoon!! What a fantastic line up we have this year. 3pm Queen's Speech, followed by a quick run round the area with Molly and Bertie who'll be staying with us a brief interlude, namely a few drinks and some internet time for me 6.50pm Doctor Who (KYLIE!!!) 8.30pm Strictly Come Dancing 9.30pm To the Manor Born (Can't wait for this - have been getting all excited ) 10.30pm Catherine Tate - Old Nan, you've gotta love her Haven't even looked at the rest of the guide yet either so hoping the beeb haven't just got a fab Christmas Day lined up What will be your highlights? A xx
chelsea
we hardly watch any tv on Christmas day. What we have been doing over the last few Christmases, is to have a "stars in their eyes" karaoke singalong We really go to town (pick an act/song) get the outfit sorted out before christmas (from charity shops etc). Then early evening on Christmas day we start. We have whole family doing it, we have glitter balls/smoke machine and the kitchen is the dressing room for make up/getting ready. We even have the sparkley curtain and film the "before transformation into star" and then come through the sparkley curtain as the star!!! Its hilarious, especially watching it back after we film it- we are in fits of laughter. I have won it twice - once as Shirley Bassey and the other time as Madonna! Back to your original post though Andrew, Im glad Strictly is on I cant stand Catherine Tate though, she doesnt make me laugh at all
Mrs Frugal
We usually give up on TV and watch some of the DVDs that the boys always get. This year, I feel a Johnny Depp fest coming on .
Guest
I think we may be watching Doctor Who on Christmas Day. We have tickets for Kylie in Manchester (wanted O2 Arena or Belfast but sold out in minutes) We are also going to see Aladdin at the Birmingham Hippodrome on Sunday before Christmas as John Barrowman is in it and also Daleks Not sure what part the Daleks play in it though:? Don't tell the children it is a surprise
Snowy
I'm afraid the only one of those that appeals to me is 'To the manor born'. I loved the original and this 'update' looks great!

Guest
OMG looking at that line up I planned to spend Christmas afternoon on my own in front of the telly but I will not be watching all that trash! To the Manor Born looks interesting. I only hope you missed all the good stuff and there is at least 2 episodes of Eastenders in there. Better find a good book or get recording for the next couple of weeks.
lisa33
We will be spending the evening on the Wii. We bought Guitar Hero on Monday and are already addicted. Andyman's mum is getting us a second guitar so that we can 'battle'. We have friends coming over to 'rock' with us.

It is fantastic and totally addictive. We were debating asking for it for Christmas but I was too impatient. We haven't stopped playing it. It is a lot more difficult than I thought it would be. You won't regret getting it.

Both of which I love, especially The Great Escape.....it never feels like Christmas if that isn't on !!!

chickencam
Dr Who will be a must in this house, might also watch To The Manor Born, and YD will want to watch Strictly. We are having my elderly Grandad over and he finds it hard to watch tv because he is blind in one eye and rather deaf, so I will be sitting with him most of the afternoon making the most of his company. Tina C
Oooh Hootenanny - wish I could spell it - is a tradition for us - anyone remember Seasick Steve from last year? - I still look at the Youtube clip from time to time. We seem to building a tradition of spending New Year's Eve with special people and Jools Holland (love him) and our friends last night confirmed they are coming 'for a sleepover' which is lovely. I am also considering having a party for some of our local friends, which might be even more fun.
