Omlet Staff hanns Posted February 26, 2008 Omlet Staff Share Posted February 26, 2008 Hi everyone, a national newspaper has contacted Omlet to ask if they can interview a young family about keeping chickens, they would prefer someone based in a town or urban area ideally within a couple of hours of London. If you can help please email johannes@omlet.co.uk thanks!
Tessa the Duchess
The last time the papers wanted to interview a chickenkeeper they asked for 'glamourous' now they want 'young'.....sigh Tessa

bronze
I'm young(ish) should we say its a young family we have and we live on a council road so I think we're urban but I think we're probably too rural for them and too far out of london. Laura & CTB
I'm waiting until they want " aging, stressed out"

The Dogmother
Well, we're not young, but we scrub up well, and I can get Phil along so that we look like a 'family'. What do you reckon Johannes?
Cinnamon
Email sent. Only 'cos they didn't ask for anyone glam
ubereglu
I thought you weren't allowed to use discrimination in things like this anymore...obviously not. I evidently don't fit, I'm 15, but my parents are over 50. Mind you, you probably wouldn't think that of Mum, possibly Dad...I don't know, how old did you think they were Clare/Lesley/AnnieP/herd123? Boris70
I've got a young family - and live nearish to london - but maybe Leo is classed as too young??? If so I think that'd be the last time we could be called too young for anything other than SAGA or a pension!
Tina C
I have a younger man (well a bit) and young un - so my 'family' is young even if I am nearer to 50 than 40....
Geoid
I live in London I can get my little cousin in too, he is little
Ziggy
We're not too far away, my kids are young (well the four of them go from 10 year-old down to 1 year-old), but my man isn't particularly, and I'm afraid I'm not as young as I used to be (is anyone??)... So what is a young family? a family with young kids, or with young grown ups, or both??
Eyren
I assume they want a family with young children - they probably have an "angle" planned already (perfectly normal journalistic practice) and want a family who can answer the questions they're interested in. Jamie Oliver has made such an impact lately, first with school dinners and then chickens - perhaps they are following up on that?

clucky1
Oooooh how exciting . - We are 'young' (well I think so anyway) - We are half a mile from any other life (but I could alter the roadsigns - Is that illegal?) - We have the small problem with a muck-spread field next to us : WITH Cows (I must be able to camauflage them somehow-turn them into small buildings useing my kids papiermache) - I could wipe the mud off my two young kids and tell them that they are not aloud to live in their wellies anymore (maybe I need to buy them baseball caps?) We CAN DO IT (Can anyone lend me any make-up) ?

Guest
I wonder what a young family is? Is it one with very young children, one with young parents or just one with children not all in the 6th form? We are an hour from London in a semi-rural location on a housing estate. My youngest child is almost 10. I also have a 13 yo and a 15 yo at home. So, 'children' who are quite happy and able to talk about chicken-keeping rather than cute tiny tots. There's nothing like keeping busy and planning things to take your mind off other stuff.
