Lesley
I've lost another pound and a half - I was expecting to stay the same this week. I only need another half pound to be below a stone marker - and I really don't think that's likely before Christmas......too much tasting to do
C&T
I've lost another pound and a half - I was expecting to stay the same this week. I only need another half pound to be below a stone marker - and I really don't think that's likely before Christmas......too much tasting to do Congratulations! I have decided that while I should be careful over CHristmas, I am not counting Weight Watchers Points. I will re-start after New Year! On holiday come end of Feb, so need to be on a beach then - so a reasonable incentive to be good again!
AJuff
Er I've avoided being on here since the summer as when I went back to work all the old eating habits returned. So at the end of November I restarted healthy eating after tipping the scales at 10st 10 1/2lbs. You see I wanted a skirt which i'd seen and when i tried it on the 12 was too big round the stomach and the 10 was too small. Now I just had to have it so I bought the 10 and decided to cut out biscuits and cake and chocolate etc. Today I weigh 10st 1 1/2lbs and I got into the skirt!!! Unfortunately I've stuck at this weight so I've been running on the treadmill this morning and have eaten very healthily all day. I wanted to be 9st something by Christmas day but that seems a bit unlikely now!!

craftyhunnypie
Hi - my slimming world class leader has left. She was sooooo good. We now have a stand in temporarily & she is awful. No care attitude etc. I went last night in all that snow & there weren't even any chairs put out & the table was bare. I asked if she was doing a class & she just shrugged her shoulders & said we'll see. I'm sorry, bu she is getting paid for doing nowt! Grrrrrrrrrrr. So I am now wondering whether to join the online class ? I have to pay, but it works out the same price. It is for 3 months, by which time my 'old' class should have a new leader. Does anyone else do Slimming world online? Emma.x
Couperwife
oh no how rubbish what about hanging on an trying on your own? you have done so well. you can keep it going and try a few other classes in your area until you find one you like. good luck cathy x
craftyhunnypie
I've joined online now. Went for the silver package, so I get the magazine too. It'a a real pain, as have to start as a new starter - but hey ho. I know what I've lost so that's what matters. I'm quite impressed with the online version to be honest - I'll get tons more from it than my class! Hubby has been very good throughout & I've told him to punish me every Wednesday - if the scales don't read good. Wonder how he will do that? Oooo I'm shaking in my boots! ha ha. Aiming good for my hols in February now. Emma.x
AJuff
I've put on 4lbs over Christmas and am finding it sooooooooo hard to get back to my healthy eating again. i feel I've taken five steps forward and three back. Now I've a way to go before getting to 9st something!!!
Lesley
I put 2 lbs on over Christmas and probably one or two more after I last weighed myself. I've just finished a 5 day phase one of an eating plan and have lost 4lbs from the previous weigh in so probably 5/6 lbs I have really enjoyed the 5 days, have eaten plenty and haven't been hungry. I couldn't have chosen a worse time for a 5 day plan which involved salad - I don't like salad, even in the summer - but I made them as exciting as possible and really enjoyed them Over the 5 days I've had no bloating, no heartburn and no stomach cramps - no wheat , which I know I'm intolerant to but I ignore that and always eat bread On to phase
missuscluck
hi all. Yup managed to add a few pounds over Christmas and need to get back on the job again. Just about finnished the last of the xmas goodies. We still have a few meals left in the freezer but should be cleared out and ready to go by the weekend with a healthy shop. I got a Wii fit for Christmas and Im really enjoying it. I suffer from some back pain due to lack of exercise, poor posture and sitting at a computer all day. I have been doing the yoga and balance games and it is really helping. I have had no back pain since I started doing it. It tells me I am over weight (which I knew anyway ) and it has also told mrcluck he too is over weight and his BMI is over what it should be. Very naughty of me but its raised a smile Dont think he is too pleased !!
Jules.
I've put on 4lbs over Christmas and am finding it sooooooooo hard to get back to my healthy eating again. i feel I've taken five steps forward and three back. Now I've a way to go before getting to 9st something!!! Keep going, I'm just the same. I lost all that weight back in the summer & I've put 9lb of it back on For me its a big psychological thing, dieting. I know what I should be eating to lose weight or to maintain my weight, but i find that if I'm not in " the zone" I reach for unhealthy options. Whereas since Friday I've ben back in " the zone" & have eaten well, & even exercised this morning to my aerobics video. And then if I set myself a goal of exercising x times per week but don't make my target then I get down about it, & think why should I even bother. I've set myself an achievable goal of losing 10lbs by Easter. Had I maintained my summer weight then I wouldn't have to be dieting again now Its a whole lifestyle issue for me. craftyhunnypie
Well I am truly shocked! As you know I stopped going to my slimming class, because of the woman - who's temporarily taken over. I joined online Slimming World. Did my weigh in last night & I've lost 3 lbs! I'm over the moon...wonder how much more I can lose before my hols in a few weeks? Lesley
Well done!! - it isn't easy going it alone.
craftyhunnypie
No it's not easy, but I have a holiday promise at the end of it all - only got another 1 stone 8 pounds to go & I'm there. I picked up a box of stuff that equals the total weight I've lost altogether - I can't believe I was carrying round all that excess weight! I feel wonderful these days. kinsk
I've firmly secured myself to the wagon as of today, my half hearted attempts throughout January have managed to shift 2lbs so really must try harder. Have set a goal of easter which is just over 8 weeks away by which point I want to have lost 10lbs.

Rhapsody
Just wanted to say- WW Chocolate Cake Bars at most major supermarkets are fantastic and really soft and chocolatey. Even my teenage sons scoff them!
BarbaraJ
I'm joining in on the chat here because i need to eat better, exercise more and lose some weight. Christmas was great but i'm paying for it now 2yrs ago i lost 2 stone and now have put over 1/2 a stone back on and I'm not happy as i was a good size 14 rather than 18 and now some of my 14's don't fit I used to go to the gym but i don't want to go back as i didn't like it so instead have put postcards in local OAP centre for free dog walking. I childmind and find we walk a lot in the summer but the last month has been horrid for getting out! I'm going to get back into making soups again as they are handy for lunchtime and got myself more porridge as thats much netter than toast for breakfast. I'm not really counting calories just keeping and eye on them and the fat and sugar content of things Also need to lose t before my holiday in June
kinsk
Soups are fantastic, I try to make a batch every week which does me 4-5 lunches. Usually tomato based - chickpea, chorizo and tomato - roasted pepper, chilli and tomato - fennel and tomato.
Happy chickens!
Hello, long time to post. Well done to so many of you for keeping going. Really serious about joining you this time, for my health. At least I haven't acutally put any weight on since a year ago. I'm cutting down on portion sizes and unhealthy snacking. I can't play tennis which I love a the moment due to a back injury, but have got the old wii fit out for now. Hope to get some of this group willpower, as I don't have much of my own. Lesley
Welcome to all the newbies Article in The Mail yesterday about carbs being the stuff to ditch if you're losing weight - more so than counting calories apparently. I've just been reading the Saturday paper - what it says is the same as the Harcombe food plan which I'm following and I've lost 16lbs now - still plenty to go though. The 5 day Phae 1 really helped me to kick the wheat I crave but which I know I'm intolerant to and Phase 2 is more like food combining which I sometimes find difficult (in my head really) but is really suiting my innards. After the bad bout of Diverticulitis I had over Christmas 2008, I need to concentrate on that rather than the fact I can't have jacket potato and cheese in the same meal at the moment .....or egg and chips....or rice pudding...... I'm not missing them really I'm eating plenty and am not hungry so I'm a happy bunny at the moment The more I read about Carbs and Insulin the more sense it makes.
