chickencam
Thank God for Britain's temperate climate We have quite a nice day here today, it was frosty overnight, but we missed the fog, so it was sunny first thing. It has clouded over a bit now with a light wind but not bad.
The Dogmother
The sun is trying to break through - without much luck.
Ardene5
Hi Everyone We been busy today although the weather has been rain or drizzle all day here in Preesall and the areas around Blackpool. We have managed to get some photographs of Baby both in her Penthouse inside the bungalow and also some photographs side the Henian Castle these you can find under "a bad landing into an other hen caused a bad leg problem & >" which is in the Chicken Clinic heading. These photos were taken after the bandage was removed you will see that there is one foot Baby is reluctant to put down. What has the weather been like for you wherever you live within the world? Groovychook
It's a damp, grey & mild morning here. It's 7.8 degrees without a hint of a breeze. Yesterday was vile! Fog and constant rain. We're forecast sunshine here for later...
Lesley
It's grey and drizzly here - very wet overnight and we have standing water again 7C at the moment but the sun should come out and we're in for a dry day with sunshine

Guest
It's glorious here - been out for a walk with Squidger and Polo to shake off the severe case of the doldrums that's been hanging over me this week, and only had to put a cardi on. Fab!
Blackrocksrock
frosty start - 4 degrees and sunny with blue skies but feels cold - roads so mucky and I ran out of water - had to go to my local repair garage a few miles away on my way past to top up with water on my way home this morning. I had been praying for a big lorry as they kick up wet stuff but no luck.

The Dogmother
same here in totally sun-free Berkshire but Oxfordshire is gradually emerging from the murk across the river... Yup, it's lifting here a bit - my office looks out over the town and towards Middleton Cheney which is 5 miles away. Earlier all I could see was a white wall of haze - now I can see some fields and buildings. I want it to be nice this weekend as I have stuff to do outside. chelsea
why cant the forecasters get it right Yesterday they forecast sunshine down here and it rained all day, and today they forecast torrential rain and cos they forecast that I left all the weatherproof shades down on the run (to protect the rain from blowing in the run) and low and behold the sun has shone all day whilst I've been at work! Old Speckled Hen
Been another beautiful sunny day here. Not so many visitors about just yet so the hills are blissfully empty. Plodding along with the younger dog along the tarn shore with just sheep bleating and the mew of the buzzard .... Lovely. Just waiting for the call of the curlew then I'll know spring is in the air. Ardene5
HiHaving just watched the weather forecast for the coming week it seems that there is going to be a change in the wind direction and the weather. Rain & wind is the forecast for the early part of the week but then the Low pressure over the UK will move North East towards Denmark. This means that the wind will move in direction to come from the North and snow is forecast for the Highlands of Scotland. Does this mean Winter is coming early? (For anyone interested the wind moves anti clockwise around a Low pressure and clockwise around a High pressure). So should we all be stocking up on feed and bedding for our girls? Best regards Ian & Valerie William & Harry Missy & Millie Dogs 9 Hens + + large covered run Hi Everyone You all might remember the about quote I wrote at the start of The Weather Thread. Well think I could type it again because next week there will be bad winter weather coming our way from Russia. Another cold snap is on its way in a winter that looks set to be the chilliest for at least 13 years, meteorologists have warned. The Press Association, said the "reasonably average" temperatures over the last fortnight would come to an end on Sunday night when bitter winds and freezing air from Russia were expected to move across the UK. There is also a chance of snow for parts of the country in the early part of next week. Chill winds from the continent will start to be felt across the south and east in the next couple of days, before a blast of bitterly cold air from western Russia sends the mercury plunging during Sunday night and the early part of next week. So if this is the case have you got food etc for your hens. Also have you got plenty of warm clothes to wear? So how is the weather with you at the moment wherever you are in the world you are Best regards Ian, Valerie and Baby the hen
