Redwing
I have at last got my chickens! They are the best things ever although the pecking order organisation seems a bit rough... I didnt tell my husband as he is still living in Bristol and I promised not to get them till the spring but I think he knows me too well because he sent me a text message asking how 'our girls' are! SPRUNG! I got a Bluebelle, a Goldline and a Amberlee from the excellent Cotswold Chickens (as recommended by Claret - thanks for that Claret!) I didn't want to come to work today and I will certainly NOT be working late

Gamebird
Congratulations Redwing. My Hubby really wasn't that keen on getting yet more animals but he went along with my plan and now I find him talking to them and laughing out loud at their antics. Have fun. The Dogmother
Brilliant news Redwing I didn't get a chance to ask what you'd chosen, but they are lovely chooks aren't they? The pecking order fracas will setltle down in a couple of days and they'll soon be happily pecking around together. Remamber to keep them on the run for the first few days until they know where home is, then you'll be fine to let them out. Pictures and names....? mostin
Congrats, I bet he didn't really expect you to wait until the spring . I'm very jealous of your Bluebelle, they had none left at the place I got my extra two from and I really fancied one. It is amazing how they change your priorities, in fact I've been thinking about this all day and I think i'll start a thread in nest box about it and see anybody else has noticed the same thing? Redwing
Thanks for your encouragement everyone! The girls are settling in ok, Bren still bullying the other two but I am not interfering even though it all seems very mean (the run has lots of feathers in it!) I will attempt to get some photos online
