Couperman
Last night I kind of well erm fell down the stairs whilst carrying a fully armed cat with the safety catch off. Luckily our stairs have a couple of changes of direction so didn't go top to bottom just the last flight. I have however wound up with a severly disfunctional back and some cat related injuries. The cat is fine she had a soft landing The stairs can be repaired My back only really hurts when I move.........anything, and in general is just a dull agony. I have also developed and uncanny talent of dropping virtually everything I pick up. Moving quickly registers 9 on the agonyometer but only 4 on the durationometer giving a discomfort level of 36. Moving slowly registers 4 on the agonyometer but 9 on the durationometer giving a discomfort level of 36. I may have to resort to painkillers or alcohol. So the moral of the story is don't attempt difficult tasks like walking descendantly with your arms full of cat after drinking copious amounts of beer. Kev. chickenanne
Ow! Painkillers or alchol is definitely a good answer. But, probably not both together.....

Ain't Nobody Here
Oh, your poor cat . Only joking, very sorry to hear about your catastrophe (didn't think of that one, did you ) but glad to hear your sense of humour landed intact . Best wishes for a speedy recovery from your injuries (and your necessary alcohol consumption)
Egluntyne
Poor you. You can while away your recovery time on the forum though. A tonic for anyone. I hope you are soon up and about normally.

Yorkshire Pudding
I sympathise, Kev. I have scars from carrying a loaded rabbit whilst wearing a bikini (it was a very long time ago). No stairs were involved but a stray wellie jumped out in front of me and the rabbit kicked in panic. I recommend tea and sympathy and keeping very warm. And the forum, of course. I know I shouldn't but that made me laugh so much! (Not the back pain bit though. Thats no laughing matter). My ED decided to give one of our cats a hug and carry him like a baby. Only he wasn't having any of it and now she has a scratch across her forehead resembling the Sure (deodrant) tick.

Janty
Ouch! Cat scratches are awful. They have a knack of inflicting maximum pain with their claws.

Cooks
I hope you feel better soon, back pain is horrible isn't it! I fell UP the stairs once and fell onto the top banister sticking up, it landed in my armpit and I had a whacking great bruise for weeks, not to mention it hurt to move that arm.. I couldn't have repeated that if I tried.

Couperman
Oh no, poor Cathy! I hope you feel better soon and that she doesn't suffer too much Don't worry she is busy suffering at the cinema with the lasses I still have the ability to move using the same technique employed by zombies who are lacking in the leg department. So I will survive. I have everything close to hand, remote control, tablets, gin, tonic, lapdog, chocolates, so the only real problem is zombying my way to the toilet in time, it seems a lot further away than it used to be woe is me Kev. Chook n Boo Mum
I have recovered my composure now ......sorry, it wasn't funny at all it's just you paint such a wonderful picture....pure Laurel & Hardy I hope your screaming muscles and raw cat scratches recover quickly, at least cat scratches are inflicted with sharp instruments rather than the blunt ones a dog uses, the edges tend to knit together quicker in my experience. Maybe the cat will forgive you one day Why may I ask did the cat need assistance, had she imbibed too much of the hard stuff too ? Have you taken some arnica for your aches & pains, I find it wonderful stuff for healing, especially when I am not in a position to take alcohol!! Sha x She was asleep on our bed, we don't let her sleep all night there because she is partial to tapdancing on your face in the middle of the night! I normally just scoop her up and take her down to her own bed. She doesn't normally wake up, unless of course I do an Eric Cantona stlye kung fu maneouvre on the stairs! Kev.
