We have nearly 3 inches this morning. The forecast was bang on for a change it started at about midnight and continued all night.

Everywhere is so pretty.

ED's school was reported closed by 6.30am this morning, so we thought DS's would be too because they are about a mile away from each other and share a bus, but the buses were still running and his is open. We had already made a decision not to wake them up so he is off too. YD's school is open and she wanted to go, so i hope her friends turn up otherwise she won't be happy.

OH decided to walk the 2 miles to work rather than drive, it looks like we could get more, the sky is very heavy still.

We must have a good 4" here now and it is still coming down! It's fabulous, fluffy, snowbally snow!! The chooks are totally disgusted - their roof is covered, but I've opened their run door. They are just glaring at me and muttering - not even trying to come out  Poor Dennis the westie nearly disappeared when he went out this morning  And naturally school is closed again  And our roads are completely covered - I don't think any of the local councils are acknowledging our existance this week

This is the main road at the end of the drive - a main trunk from Leicester to Gloucester - but it is classified as a B road - Warwickshire CC are only gritting 33 A roads and no B roads at all. This is taken at rush hour - 8am.........

Towards Leicester.....

The main island....towards Gloucester....

I've taken photos of the farm - will post them in the Good Life thread in the Self Sufficiency Section.

At least 8 inches here and it's started falling again. LSH says that the A1 is closed near us and town is silent and empty as there are hardly any vehicles moving. He's had to walk the 3 miles to work as he couldn't get off our drive! All the local buses have suspended their services and the schools are all closed. Just the occasional person walking past pulling children on sledges. It's beautiful!

Hubby was out again last night looking for a climber in the Langdales.

Great picture 8) . Can't understand why people think it's a good idea to go hillwalking when the weather is so bad  . There were two walkers found safe in the Cairngorms today, I heard. Don't they consider the people (like your OH) who have to go looking for them  ?.

Absolutely :!: and thanks for your kind thoughts.

Today is the 5th anniversary of the Morecambe Bay cockle pickers disaster. He was out for that as well.

Somebody fell to their death off Pavey Ark this morning!!!

On a lighter note

Here's a picture when we DID have snow

I would have never said that it was 5 years. How does you OH cope with such tragedies?

Love the pic of your girls 8) Most impressed that they went out in the snow. Mine just hid
